Depends what you mean by poaching.
Is signing a player available for the following season poaching which is what the provinces do.
If the claim is Ireland are poaching other nationals that is incorrect for the reasons I have outlined

'Project' players becoming Irish internationals is the same kind of 'happy accident' as Osbourne's budget being attractive to potential UKIP voters.

Poached eggs. They're the worst kind. Can't stomach them.
Anyway. Ireland pulled over the ropes by our 'purist' neighbours because we won a hard fought for Championship using an Israeli and a Spaniard? The Spaniard stayed on the bench that night too.
We're terrible people to be filling our ranks with multi-nationals. It must be the low corporation tax that brings them.

Are you suggesting that UKIP voters are more likely to try their hand at Bingo?

An accident that's has only happened once EVER - you'd get a nice low premium with those odds

Is a poached Kiwi often a twice poached egg though as maybe he was already poached from elsewhere to begin with? Ouch! Stop that Fly!

Someone said his middle name is Aaron. Is that true people's that know him better? As in you Ulster guys?
So I wouldn't mind him being called JAP.
No, not racist just................................. politically correct controversal quicksand.................... em,ok...we'll give him an O'. But first he'll have to live up to the O' by scoring 6 tries on his International debut. The auditions for O' are getting tougher each year.

Fair comment, the legends have to first earn the right to be known by just 3 letters.
Even some of the Welsh (AWJ, JPR) have been at it a while.
We English are jealous that we don't seem to produce 3 letter heroes in the same way.

That's because the English heros have such exotic multi syllable names like Tuilagi and Vainapolo.

Gibbo is a D4WUM. Always was, always will be. A legend, yes. But a WUM nonetheless.

Geoff
thanks, I guess I mean the other Celtic parts (am I allowed to say that ? no flame war intended)
The Scots don't seem to go in for 3 letters either. Mainly a Western Celt thing it seems, Wales and parts of the Island of Ireland. I forgot JD2.
English tend to USE surnames (public school ?) or shortened surnames.
Unless there are 2 brothers, so it is Mako and Billy.
So down here in Gloucester.
Tindall has a local club 3 letter moniker: HRH
And of course we have the cryptic 12T.
Qera = 'Q'
Kalamafoni is difficult for some fans, so = 'K'.

Re: Jared Payne turns Irish
I actually dislike the POCs and BODs - always have. I have a natural aversion to abbreviations from way back. And for years I persistently used to defiantly spell out the players' full names - Brian O'Driscoll etc. But in the last year or two, because I've been writing so much!!!, I've tended to use the shorthands too to give my poor fingers an easier time!

If you throw in the English double-barrels you have James Simpson-Daniel (JSD) and Jordan Turner-Hall (JTH).
Both injury-prone though. It comes with having to carry those heavy names around.

As the 3 big boys rebelled what we are left with is no defined number just an effective IRFU power of veto on any NIQ contract.
Cheers. Seems like a more sensible way of doing it. The only issue arrising from not having set rules would be complaints of bias if Province A was allowed 5 NIQ players and Province B was only allowed 3.

I made that up Secret. Who knows it might be. Then again he might have a double barrelled middle name: Ian Zane. JIZ Payne demands media attention.
It's the simple things.

Jaysus. It's Edward. He's trying to break up Jedward and claim Eurovision for Ireland once again. He must be stopped!

Those guys were doing fantastic work and should have been sent out again this year. The object for Ireland is to lose the thing. That's the goal. We hosted it more than anyone and it damn near broke our national broadcaster. We don't want it no more - thus "My Lovely Horse" entries each year.
