First topic message reminder :

John wrote:Can see the same thing happening with Kroos, when Bayern stump up the wage & then the pressure will be on Moyes massively, after constantly telling everyone that he's been given the nod by these agents that these players wanted to come to United.

He shouldn't be saying things like that IMO. Just making things harder for himself.

5/2/3 when defending, high line and keeper sweeping.

Pinched the ball a few times.cleverly given it away in bad positions twice already.

Aye pile of rubbish.

Lot of flaws in the system already, mata (won't play when rvp is back) just doesn't press at all. So Rooney and welbeck have to come in to him leaving loads of space on the flanks to be exploited.

Don't think mata does enough as a no 10 either.

Great strike from Rooney.

Lloris would be a great signing under this system Whistle I get the feeling van Gaal and Neuer would be best pals. Did he coach Neuer at BM or did they sign him after LVG left?

To be fair though Roma are just doing the same thing over and over- long ball after long ball trying to find the striker over the top- it is a bit basic.

well this team is certainly clinical-Rooney is having serious fun out there.

It would have been nice to see the build up to the penalty though!

Fair play to them, good few goals.

Roma probably less advanced in terms of pre season serie a normally starts 2 weeks after pl.

Interesting all the same, herrera not as good tonight.

Roma aren't a bad side at all either, beat Liverpool last week and can play some very attractive football, probably the best in Serie A. Just hope Vidal's watching somewhere.

4 men ahead of Rooney and cleverly coming from deep when he struck that- big difference from last year.

Quite like paddy Crerand as a pundit, no airs or graces- like one of those older gents you can bump into down the pub but he really knows his stuff. And just the right amount of bias too.

Smalling being much more aggressive in his play- something he needs to do as he is a physical specimen but not blessed with technical ability.

What a goal from Roma.

I did say during the World Cup that one player to watch out for this season from the tournament was Miralem Pjanic.

I am also looking forward to seeing Phil Jones at centre back this season. He has loads of potential when playing there for Blackburn and feel he make a major step forward if he gets  a run as a centre back under Louis Van Gaal.

Amos looking clumsy and unable tic going for that strike.

Only pre season but some contrast to last year, losing and struggling to Asian all star sides.

I think smalling will properly break through sportform, jones quite frankly lacks any sort of footballing talent.

Woeful technique, Wreckless, injury prone. Not a great combination. There's a very good reason he hasn't nailed down one position.

So inter beat real on penalties leaving us top of our group on 3 points, inter with 2, real 1 and Roma 0.

The main implication of topping the group being paying in the final I.e. An extra game and travelling.

Inter, Real, possibly another match in US, then Valencia at old trafford and that wraps up pre season.

I wonder how good the preparation is given how long they spend travelling and doing commercial stuff on this tour.
