We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
Well, as I started one for the Championship, it seems now is the time for the Premier League 2014/15 thread to begin!
We have all our teams, with Leicester, Burnley and QPR replacing Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich. Can City retain, can United break into the top four, how will Liverpool cope with Champions League football. All this and more can be discussed as we see how the transfers, the rumours, the World Cup and everything else make an impact on the Premier League before it all kicks off?
I'll open it up...the Telegraph, Sky Sports and others report Pochettino is top of Spurs' shortlist and could be unveiled in the next week. Thoughts? Sounds the perfect fit to me. Some suggesting he'll bring Rodriguez with him, although that sounds like immediate clutching to me.

Lennon is Poopie, just a bad premier league footballer with a reputation for having some kind of ability that after many years of top flight football no one has seen yet.

Yeah just ask Kayfabe (Celtic fan) about Lennon's managerial ability. Add into that he's an uber tw@t then I wouldn't (and didn't) want him near my club

As well as everything else, including Lennon being a d!ck, his only managerial experience is at Celtic; not exactly a like-for-like with Palace, is it?

Managing a carp in a puddle to a minnow in an ocean full of great whites..
Maybe he could draw from the very few performances he had v teams like barca- where i think he held them of to a draw on one occasion in the CL..
But what has he had- a few games against better teams than him in his managerial career!!
At palace you need to look at the opposition weeks in advance and work out the best policy, rather than just turn up and you win(in the spl)
Oh come back TP- all is forgiven

OR . I would tap up Steve McLaren and double his pay... I think he could keep us up. Decent manager for a team of our level

I had to chuckle at the Ally McCoist rumours. Arguably the worst manager in Scottish football. Just because he's manager of The Rangers doesn't mean he's any good. Whilst you're at it, you could employ Charles Green as chairman and have Craig Whyte buy your club.

Hull can feel hard done-by there. Lino missed an obvious double deflection and the throw-in which preceded the goal should have gone Hull's way.

Manchester United: De Gea; Jones, Smalling, Blackett; Valencia, Cleverley, Fletcher, Mata, Young; Rooney, van Persie Subs: Amos, M. Keane, James, Kagawa, Hernandez, Welbeck, Januzaj.
Most worrying part of that side is the bench, which looks really poor...is Herrera injured?

Don't understand QPR or Harry at all. Dunne/Ferdinand in defence? Just not good enough.
Why he started Leroy is beyond me. The bloke signed midweek, has only had two weeks of pre season and 20 minutes of game time. No wonder there midfield sucked

Fingers crossed, midfield looks vulneravle - mata needs to get the finger out today.

Ah you've brightened my day up Nando (Until he breaks down in 10 minutes and aggravates the injury resulting in him being out for the season).

This is a shambles.
Valencia's marking and no one on the post.
Good cross and header but making it easy for them.

If Van Gaal finishes in a similar position to Moyes did last year, is he sacked or given faith and more money?

Still very early and a lot of variables to consider in that.
Well do better than 7th. Still have a few important players injured to cw bavk into the team.

Tom Cleverley, rather uniquely, plays the Michael Carrick role in an attacking midfield position. Spellbinding stuff! Ashley Young is completely lost at wing-back and Valencia, on the other side, is faring little better. Very inexperienced at the heart of the defence, and Fletcher is offering them little protection.
Sunderland have to go for this: it is there to be won.

Can't disagree, the united players need to man up.
The 11 on the pitch also need to realise that there are 4 injured players who will go into the first 11 when fit and further arrivals imminent.
They are playing for their united careers

Two people benefit from this though...
Fergie - His stock is rising after seeing him win a title with last year's abysmal team
Moyes - It obviously wasn't his fault.
