Yes it is. You must feel like you're banging your head on the Umpire's Chair sometimes, Marxy.

I think a few people on the boxing boards are nobheads. Thing is I have to look at it now and again to find results etc and they're always blocking the threads up with rubbish. Unfortunately most boxing forums are the same and I can't get on any sites like Boxrec of Ring Tv from work anymore.

Yeah, lots of punters swinging it in there, sean.
I sometimes have a glimpse at it and then just move on. Nothing to say to them really. They are all bloody boxing experts it seems. Some do have lots of good boxing knowledge though.
Sad about your Aussie mate leaving. I can imagine what it feels like in a non-gay way.
I can't tell you how nice a day it was here today. I had to give the Irish carpenter (he was knocking up frames on the exposed floor... painted black for waterproofing) some factor 50 sunscreen because the sun was quite intense up there. He was getting fried by 9am. First warm-ish day since late April and you can feel it's only going to get hotter. Need to get the pool excavator in as soon as the ground dries out a bit more.

LD, did you see the story about the swimmer that got killed by a great white in Byron Bay?
Gruesome.

Hopefully he'll come back but I kind of get the feeling he thinks he should start settling down. Only 25 though. If I was good enough I'd keep doing for a few more seasons.
I see there's been a shark attack in Byron Bay. I was under the impression there weren't any sharks there. I would never have got in the bloody water. Bad enough getting stung by a blue bottle.

Yeah it's gruesome. All over the news here.

I got bitten by horsefly once. That really f*cking hurt. It wasn't in Australia (never been, would like to one day) but in my parents yard. You think you're safe in your parents yard but you're not. All sorts of dangers lurking.

Yes sean, exactly.
He's split up with Linda Kozlowski though and I'm not sure if either of them are there at the moment.
Always had the hots for Delvene Delaney - Strop's (John Cornell's) wife. She's gorgeous.

Always need to be careful on those remote beaches. It's so easy to drown out there too.
I used to "hang out the back" when I was a young idiot but these days I try and make sure there are other people swimming or surfing out beyond me. I also obviously try and keep an eye on what's going on in shallower water and if possible... have a bee line back to the beach mapped out.

Liver and bacon from the canteen. The only thing worth coming into the office for.
Bit of gravy and some carrots and green beans (non-medley). Lovely stuff.

Sean, I have a patch of lawn that has randomly died. It is almost in a perfect square and the grass has just gone brown over a couple of weeks. There hasn't been anything resting on it so I am puzzled. It's almost like there should be a manhole cover (there isn't) under it.
What advise can you offer in your capacity as v2's resident Monty Don?

Years ago Tina Mike Tyson lost an almost perfectly square patch of his hair, remember reading that was stress related. Has your lawn been under any unexpected or extreme pressure recently?

Not that I am aware of, Jeffrey. The weather has been kind, with enough rain and sunshine to keep the majority of the lawn looking quite lush.
Interesting theory though and thanks for taking the time to offer some help.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Perfect square is very unusual if there are no obstacles. Up until the last 2 or 3 days it has been prime disease weather. Moist, dark and mild. Disease however doesn't spread that way - fairy rings are caused by fungus spreading outwards from a central spot. Likewise fusarium will spread out from a central spot killling all the grass.
I'd get a pitch fork to check the depth of soil in comparison to the more green areas of lawn. Could be an old bit of buried concrete but having said that you would probably see it year in year out when things dry up and it hasn't really dried up over the last month anyway.
Does the dead patch have any furrows present? Scratch marks?

I am going to have to leave in a minute, but if you have any tarpaulin, cover the patch and hold down with a few stones. Half the tarp on the dead bit, half on the healthy grass. Leave it over night and then in the morning turm over to see if you have any bugs.
Also check iof you have a drainaway on your plans or perhaps a septic tank.

F*cking crazy day today. First the Sainsburys home delivery occurred then I did a couple of quizzes on Sporcle. Having a bit of a rest now, might arrange my Coen Brothers films into alphabetical order afterwards though that should really be tomorrow evening's treat.
Almost forgot to mention that I learned something interesting today, cats don't like to lick it up when you spit for them like dogs do (I don't mean jizz when I say "spit" either, I mean "saliva").

I was in a pub beer garden the other day when this miniature snow leopard came up to me looking quite friendly... and a bit hungry I thought.
So I threw a small piece of chicken schnitzel on the ground (without the breadcrumbs bit) and it turned its nose up at it, flicked its tail and slunked back into the bushes. It looked pi55ed off that I hadn't ordered the barramundi. I'll know next time.

I reckon my cat could take on a snow leopard if the snow leopard was shrunk to a fraction of its normal size.
Just did some experimenting and discovered she likes earwax too. Not sure if I inadvertently tricked her as I've just been feeding her ice-cream in a similar fashion but she didn't recoil or attack me.

My ex-cat used to love yoghurt... the Greek variety. It would get really excited and jump on my shoulder and try and stick its fat head in the container when I was having some. Not sure if its good for them in large portions though.

Builders going off at each other here. Accusing each other of slacking off during the wet days. Both told each other to f*ck off... such short fuses. Makes it difficult for me as the client standing there listening to it. Guess I'll have to put on my mediator hat again to smooth things over.
Danny is still going on about it as I type. Lots of swearing. At least the concrete mixer is turning.

Ha ha, yeah. Things back to "normal" now.
Massive blue sky to the west but they are deliberating over taking about 3 rows of tiles off the roof which would exposed my ceiling. I've moved all the furniture away and we have large tarps... but the question is: is the window of time big enough before the next showers predicted this afternoon. I told them to wait until tomorrow? 23 and sunny then apparently.
