It was purely for the name raf, I would have said the Grand Union Canal were it not in bad taste at the moment.

Don't think sean will be heading there any time soon then.
I am happy with a view and a carton of wine. Some good honest growler would be appreciated but is by no means necessary.

I got punched in the ear by my 5 year old nephew at the weekend. He's going to have a little accident soon.

It doesn't end well, 'fly. He'll deck you proper next time. Too much testosterone in meat nowadays, kids just have freak power. Ask Tina. He couldn't eat for a month after his kid showed him flames.

I used to drive a Nova!
Let's have a lyrics link quiz.
1 Do you like girls or boys? It's confusing these days. But moon dust will cover you, cover you.
2 You've fought hard and you saved and earned, but all of it's going to burn
3 There's a church bell ringing, hear the song of joy that it's singing
4 All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go
5 I laughed at all of your jokes my love you didn't need to coax

Bloody anthroponds.....
CRANE FLY INFESTATION
For the attention of all clubs
As a result of my own observations, a recent visit to one of our member clubs, and national newspaper reports there is a significant increase this autumn of the number of insects / crane flies around this autumn which is as a result of last winter’s exceptionally wet and mild weather.
None of us can predict what the weather holds for the coming winter, however, should the weather again be mild which few hard frosts, there is an increasing likelihood that further grounds may be vulnerable to “leatherjacket infestation”. “Leatherjackets” are the larvae of the crane fly. Infestations as such are thankfully reasonably rare and random but given the right conditions can be devastating to outfields in particular during the spring when the larvae hatch. I enclose below an extract from an email from our county ECB Pitch Inspector.
“We could be in for a bumper year for crane flies…… To ascertain if a ground is infested look for intense bird activity especially from Corvids ( Rooks, Crows, Jackdaws etc). Also placing a 2m x 2m sheet of plastic over a well watered area of turf overnight will bring any grubs to the surface by morning. If more than five leatherjackets are present then treatment is recommended.
Pesticides containing chlorpyrifos as the active ingredient will kill the grubs. The addition of water conditioners and wetting agents may be necessary for the most effective results. Any pesticide must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and only be applied by a suitably qualified operative. There are also some garlic based liquid products on the market which deter crane flies from laying their eggs and also make the rootzone unpalatable for the young grubs.”

Any resemblance to an invite for you to tell your anecdote about the time you met the guitar player from Teenage Fanclub is purely unintentional.

When you have repeated your anecdote, it will be time for me to repeat mine about Mrs Windows having her hair cut by the sister of the drummer in Bastille.
Or the time Richard Bacon held the door open for me at the Disney store in Covent Garden.

TSMR works with a girl who is married to the keyboard player with the Arctic Monkeys. He is not in the band formally, but tours with them and is the guy they use when they have keyboards on their records. They only got married the other week. Could have gone to the evening do and hung out with rock stars, but didn't.

He (Kit Clark - former bass player in Danny Wilson) was playing with his band The Mudskippers in the Westport Bar in Dundee. Wasn't a proper gig - they just played an acoustic set there every Sunday night and he asked me and my mates to be quiet so that people could listen to the music. We politely pointed out that it wasn't a proper gig and then politely declined his invitation to be quiet. I think he tutted or something, so it was getting a bit naughty, but we didn't back down because we're dead hard.
True story - a few months later he was arrested for beating up his wife. Another true story - later still his wife beat him up.

I doubt TRUSS and Union would get on despite their attendance at Uni/Poly as everyone and his dog knows TRUSS has been handed everything his entire life ie his house/job (father-in-law) and his ass (his wife/everyone he's debated with on the forum)

"Work hard in school as very few of you will go on to achieve the God-like status I have" isn't something that would have gone down well, but as I say, Rushie gets a pass for pretty much everything as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, he was/is one of my old mans hero as well. Amazing how many fathers turned up to school that day.
Some of the kids who previously had absent fathers all of a sudden got to see what their real dad looked like.

My all time Hero is Eric Cantona. Makes Ian Rush like a scouse Dot Cotton with a tache......wait.....
In all seriousness, I never saw him but Rush was an ever present in the VIP lounge at a club in Leeds (which has slipped my memory) during my time at Uni there.

Yes.
Did I tell you I saw Claudia Winkleman standing in the door of a cab on Oxford Street?
