Chelsea are a much better team, easier on the eye, but they still have their old habits. They could have ripped Arsenal apart but just turtled into defence and snatched another. I was surprised how easy Arsenal found it to play against them and I'm not sure that Chelsea looked at all like scoring till Hazard's magic

I find this to be the most watchable Chelsea team that Jose has managed. They get a lot of goals, have creative players all across the pitch and Costa and Fabregas are wonderful combination. Plus they already had Hazard, Oscar, and Schurrle in there. Arsenal I think still needs to improve and add to close the gap. I can't see anyone stopping Chelsea in the premier league frankly.

I agree. Chelsea have the talent and ability to be expressive, effective and attractive to watch and the tactical nous/solidity to grind out results in the traditional Mourinho mold. They're the best in the country by miles at the moment. Much as I'd like them to be torn apart by someone, I can't see it happening.

Yeah, I love watching mourinho when his team loses and things go against his way but I can't see that happening to this side. One of the best and most balanced sides in Europe at the moment. I could see this being a record breaking team in terms of points and goals if they play to their potential and have good luck with injuries.

I see Cabaye is already wanting out of PSG because of the predictable lack of playing time. Sneaky loan deal from the Toon in January

Can add another one to the Arsenal injury list
Mesut Ozil out for 3 months with a knee ligament injury.

Ouch. I know Ozil has been citicised but he's a brilliant player when played in his best position, instead of being thrown out onto the wing.

Played in the wrong position or not Ozil has been dogshite for both Arsenal and Germany for a while now. Walcott's back soon isn't he?

What is going on with these injuries each and every year. I thought we investigated this and brought in a trainer and physio team to address this. The season is not even a quarter way through and it seems like half the team is out injured.

Ozil is not a winger he is very natural and quality mid field playmaker I don't know why he isn't played there.

Its not a good thing because when Arsenal play well he can be absolute pivotal. But he doesnt do enough to make the game go his way. I think its great news for the Ox, Cazorla and Wilshere. Cazorla I feel is a better player for Arsenal and has been treated harshly by Wenger at times when Ozil is not outplaying him at all but gets preferential treatment.

Ozil is the very definition of someone living off his reputation at the minute. As above, he's done nowhere near enough to push himself to the forefront of Wenger's attention

Definitely a problem somewhere with Arsenal's physio/training programme because this amount of injuries every year simply isn't bad lucksocal1976 wrote:What is going on with these injuries each and every year. I have a feeling Arsenal might appreciate Ozil more once he's out of the team, I definitely think they won't be as creative in the final third.

Thats all well and good but I watched every Germany game in that World Cup and I've never seen a bigger passenger in a football team. He need not be there. Thats how good the rest of the German team were.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Why people keep defending him is beyond me. Arsenal will miss him more, now he's gone? He's failed to perform for over a year, complete passenger & anonymous against top sides, the exact moments when a £40m+ signing is supposed to step up. He's been a complete flop, doesn't have the pace or physicality for this league & he's been found wanting & even Wenger knows it, hence why he doesn't fancy him, even in the central role. For Germany, he was completely outshone by nearly everyone, including Schurlle, who only had sub roles.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I still think he's a quality player being played out of position. His attributes do not suit the wing position whatsoever. Ironically, his form has dipped since being at arsenal and as a result, for Germany also. Yes he isn't gonna track back and put a challenge in, he never did it for real but was sensational there. If wenger just played him from the start at cam we'd see a different player personally.

le10sport have run a poll in France asking the PSG fans what the Paris club should do with Yohan Cabaye, and a large percentage of the supporters say that he should be sold, and use the money to bring in new players.
I doubt he will go back to Newcastle though.

Some reports of Ozil to Munich... he'd bench so hard there. Even ignoring the fact that every single midfielder there is a better attacking talent... there isn't a manner on earth Ozil starts in a Guardiola team with his workrate.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Finally, we can discuss the Premier League again properly without having to make loose ties from international football.
Wenger has said, not sure if directly or hinting at least, they'll be buying a centre back in January. Winston Reid is stalling on his contract. Reid linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and United. Its not even bigging him up that much to say he'd improve all of their defences. Blast!
Time to see if Poch can make Spurs play well against a good side. Can Everton finally win at home? Will QPR lose again. I'd answer, no, no and yes.

I fancy the Brazilian to shade it, just.
