Questions must be asked why it's taken so long for West Ham to take advantage of a really.... inexperienced Utd defence.

It's not that bad. You can see why it's been given a red, but it certainly wasn't a Shawcross. I think the "shocker" is more because he's the captain. Lord knows why, being a footie captain is the equivalent of being the Dmitry Medvedev.

Thanks raf.
The 'shocker' was quoted by a Chelsea fan who hated every other team, apart from his own. Possibly just a stupid challenge if it had been say Carrick, RVP etc.

Arsenal need to hire a new physio, masseuse and performance efficiency analyst. There's no way all these injuries, and the extended time taken to recover are just bad luck

nonsense, scholes was a very intelligent footballer. he knew how to stop a attack without just booting someone like that scouse numpty
hence lots of yellows, but very little reds

Rooney ya Mr Winklechops.
If he had kicked his ankle to trip him then yellow but he kicked him knee height like a Mr Winklechops so red.

Yeah Phil Neville was saying. He's done it so many times before and should have been sent off more than he has been. Perhaps he didn't trust the defence?

The only way the Jagielka goal could be better is if Tony Hibbert had scored it.

Not sure why Allardyce is complaining about the offside, marginal as it was, both his head and knee were clearly offside. The moment an official makes a good decision it gets questioned as being too good to be true.

He's an inch offside, such a lucky call and in no way affected the goal. United got very lucky

He was offside and whether it affected the goal or not is not the point.

Having seen the Rooney incident, yes, a certain red. If he had clipped him lower leg, then yellow, possibly. Not that dangerous, just mindless.
Some great goals yesterday, Pelles winning it with Austin's and Jags's a close second and third. Forgot about Rooney's goal. Superb wing work, and a very good finish.

Its offside and got called, thus the correct call. I can see why west ham are moaning but you can't have a go at a lino for making the right call that's a bit of a #headsgone

Big Sam is the biggest idiot. Moaning at a lino making the correct decision! Christ I do love to moan at officials but give the bloke a break. Rooney is an idiot as well. Awful foul and very unprofessional.

Cos its beyond marginal and no benefit of the doubt was given to the attacker. The luck is that so many of those calls don't go that way, if you take your understanding of luck to a logical level

It was clearly offisde Dolph, it wasn't beyond marginal at all, the linesman made the right decision 100% and of course no benefit of the doubt is given to the attacker, what is that even meant to mean?

that it should be allowed to west ham, but not united me thinks. he would be in outrage if we won by a goal that was offside

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Well his knee is in line with the defender, and his head is in line with the arm of the defender, so its definitely inches. The benefit of doubt is meant to go to the attacker in such situations. I'll let you look it up. I'm not saying it should have been, I just think its very lucky it went your way.
I was supremely unimpressed with United throughout the whole game. McNair was a credit to himself, showed composure and handled the occasion. Rooney was the only attacker making anything happen and Rafael also played very well and showed why he was such a big miss earlier in the season. Falcao and RVP up front is just two players who offer nothing for 80% of the game. Should be interesting to see them with Mata in behind. Rooney is definitely outperforming the two ahead of him up top, but Mata hasnt worked in a United side with two natural strikers making runs ahead of him yet. Should be able to pick some holes open.
But Blind, Herrera and Di Maria offered so little in midfield. Against ours that was missing its two best players, I thought United really were poor. We dominated them throughout the second half even before the red and on the balance of play probably deserved more than a point, even though we went away with nothing.
That said, the ball retention is so far improved from last season for both sides. United seem comfortable with the ball at their feet across the park, which definitely couldnt be said last season. And we look so much better with more movement.

Your first line pinpoints the problem here, the arm is a non playable part of the body so doesn't affect an offside decision, Nolans head and Knee were both clearly beyond the defenders body. It was offside Dolph so why would there be any sort of doubt.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
The knees are in line. I know the arm doesnt count as such, but I think its very lucky that its been given. Considering the split second in it, the lino cant have known for sure. I also think its slightly unfortunate that Nolan is looking round to see the ball and thus is offside, seems counter productive to that be an offense.
