Once in a while they show high school cheerleading competitions on TV over here and it's an incredible display of synchronized gymnastics. It's way more than looking cute and cheering (which was my original assumption).

The Europeans were just told to turn up at an appointed hour - think McDool made it with an hour to spare.
Players wives names are pretty fair-game though GPB, Dowd for instance, Tabitha (from Bewitched presumably, though she seems extremely nice, and quite smart).
And: Who was the winner when Tom Watson married Denis Watson's ex? (Not surprising Watson & Feherty are such good buddies. Find Feherty's American cheerleading(!) all a bit self-serving.)

Kwin -Hey, it's all fair game, given the never-ending commentary about US professionals first and last names, Ireland bashing, (yawn) ... but as GPB points out just as pointless!
I hope it's close on Sunday, but have a hunch the "Euro" team could put the beat down on early and often.

I don't know, I can think of couple things that are more pointless things to do.
1. Mocking players for superficial appearance (curly hair, multiple chins, being overweight).
2. Making fun of players names and their children's names
Not so sure about that. Fat Lowry has made reference to the motivation he got from social media to at least make an attempt at losing weight. Don't mention it Shane, you're welcome.
Whilst making fun of peoples name is perfectly just especially if they call their children stupid names that will only be used to ridicule them. Talk about circular logic.
I'm not making fun of Pube head for having pubes for hair, it's descriptive.

Talking of Tabitha Furyk, have you seen the commercial that she and Jim do for their charity website ? The parting in her hair is sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right. Can't decide it it's intentional or not !

Plunky,
I LIKE that ad! Makes them seem quite human. Will look at it more closely now!!
How is Jim's hair parted . . . . . ?

Sorry to chip-in here, but Trussman is right. Monty played match 10 in 1997 - his was the last match LEFT out on the course, because behind him Faldo & Garrido got beaten early.
Wikipedia is wrong and won't accept corrections, even when I've cited the actual footage that's on YouTube AND the official video of the event.

I think you may owe Truss an apology
http://2014rcmediaguide.com/2014RyderCupMediaGuide/issue1/page140.htm
Match 10 - Monty vs Hoch
Match 11 - Faldo vs Furyk
Match 12 - Garrido vs Lehman
As mentioned, monty may have ended up in the last match actually playing on course, but he teed off as the 10th, and not 12th match.

Not meaning to flog this old issue to death, but Monty did play match 10 in 1997. I have the official video of the event, an old VHS of the closing stages, and I think various clips on YouTube also show the televised footage & you can see the order of play: 10 Monty; 11 Faldo; 12 Garrido.

Truss --
I can only assume you are (1) a red-blooded American and (2) that you must post somewhere else on this forum given that you have 25,000+ posts. That, in itself, a feat.
Stick around after the RC; I always enjoy those who call BS when it's clearly BS.
Lots of that going around!

Re: Ryder Cup predictions.............
I edited the wiki page, as it was clear from the references available that monty was match 10. It was not even that wiki was wrong, i think it just listed the matches in the order they finished. Which is fine but with no explanation it is a little confusing.

Poulter's getting shellacked.
I'm a bit surprised that he's playing with Stephen Gallacher, because they are very different personalities.

Amazing how 20/20 hindsight vision from the armchair experts (not you George punters on the BBC website) starts to appear when the Poulter/Gallagher paring go 6 down. All a poor choice by the Captain blah blah blah. Zzzzzz It was worth a try, it didn't work, sure McGinley will work out how to take it is his stride and move on.

Re: Ryder Cup predictions.............
Poulter/Gallagher was as much as a risk as Spieth/Reed...........Just one pair played a whole lot better....
Keep saying it's all about form........Forget all this Poulter is a warrior crap.....If the ball isn't doing what you tell it you can be the greatest warrior in the World and get battered.
2 1/2 - 1 1/2 ........Loving it so far.......and let's face it Westwood/Donaldson is a crap pairing and a gift.......

Comfortable wins for Furyk/Kuchar, Rose/Stenson and Mickleson/Bradley
Tight one between McIlroy/Garcia v Walker/Fowler
USA 5-3 or 5.5-2.5 up overnight
