I think everyone feels the same way Dolph, he's an expert on every team supported by members on here but only posts about his own team when they rarely win.

What are you on about, rarely win? We never won until Pulis came in and I didn't make a noise till that day. But its a results business and 10 men behind the ball is easy to enjoy from my armchair

You act like your opinion is superior to others, and that rubs people up the wrong way. It's why some on here have such a low opinion of you as a member of this forum.

Been winning many games under King Pulis, still in the cup when we thrashed that tin pot club who pathetically blow bubbles everywhere like a kids playground, didn't we go to OT last time & take away three points? Yeah, I think we did HH. I can post about whatever I want, as can you, not my fault you get so annoyed & emotional with other people informing you of what is really happening. I see you treat FootballLight the same way & GerrySA, pretty pathetic your little monopoly of control on here.
Correction, what you THINK is really happening, you are not an oracle of knowledge, I know my club far better than you do, watch every single game and base an opinion on that not on small snippets of information from the BBC website.

Just realised that Everton might be the only English team left in Europe, after next week. Is our league that bad?

I do think Arsenal are better than Monaco realistically, and City are better than a few of the teams in that draw still, whilst I also think Liverpool and Tottenham had their minds elsewhere and were physically too exhausted for it

Yes Arsenal had an off night, and should have scored at least two more in the second half. They could turn it around. As for the Europa League, you're right, teams fighting for a top four place, or have their eye on a cup final may not take it so seriously. Doesn't seem long ago when we regularly had three/four teams in the CL QF's.

City have been getting the raw end of the deal in Europe recently, haven't they had Munich, Madrid and Barcelona in the past three years now?
Arsenal are better than their recent showings but just can't get past the last 16 any more, whether it is a lack of ability or complacency in wanting 4th i'm not sure.
I fully expect Chelsea to progress, very hard to beat at home and PSG away are fairly average.
The Europa league doesn't offer the monetary rewards for the English teams to bother with, even with the prospect of Champions League football, the league and domestic cups are a safer less laborious proposition.

I'd like to see Everton go on and win in.
As for Liverpool's exit, I'm not at all bothered as I've always been against CL drop outs entering the competition halfway through anyway. Can't be a hypocrite now, CL place for the winners or not.

What it does do though is confirms the Bundesliga will pass the EPL in the coefficients and go up to second. After that the gap to Italy is fairly big so there is no threat to losing the 4th CL spot but with Italy having 5 teams in the EL two or three years down the line things could get interesting.

Re: UEFA Champions & Europa League 2014-15 Season Thread
There is nothing to worry about coefficient wise.
And the amount of money the PL teams will be getting compared to the bundesliga means the likelyhood is that this is only a very temporary blip in european form.

We shall see but Serie A once said a similar thing and never took the EL seriously and from the best league they lost their 4th CL spot.

I'm talking of Serie A of the 90s and early 2000s before their economic crash. It's all relative, all the best players played there, there was constant world record transfer fees the fan base was similar(pretty much everyone my age at school watched Football Italia as Sky was too expensive. It's not really a great comparison but it's certainly not chalk and cheese.

Just look at italy (government, industry, business, economics) and look at ours, look at there issues with match fixing, look at our ott policies..look at how bad our fans where back in the day and the significant improvements we have made on all fronts, Italy have remained static in every possible way.. And then we have the simple English language which makes the PL more accessable across the globe.
As I said. Chalk and cheese..

I put a tenner on a draw, suicidal betting
Bale is so shot of confidence. Real are a bit like Bayern, win the CL, look fantastic in the group stages then just go a bit flat.

Schalke must be gutted! They dominated and had all the chances. Even in the first leg i thought they just lacked the belief to take it to Real, this tie was there for the taking but think its gone now. If they had got to half time with the home fans edgy it could have got very interesting.

Madrid's defence is woeful. Casillas is so sub-standard.
Fortunately, their blistering attack - despite struggling with the final ball on a few occasions, and needing to raise the tempo - is bailing them out.

So close!
If Schalke do this, it will go down in history as one of the best moments in Champions League history.
Real Madrid should never have let themselves get into this position.

I'm surprised a european ref allowed so many players around him tbh. Normally they bristle and hand out bookings like confetti when that happens.
