They aren't Barca, Bayern or Real sure, but they're a pretty solid choice to be the best of the chasing pack

They've just never been able to push into that next level of serious challengers despite their buying power.
Now their star man is 35 and probably leaving so they'll be starting again in some ways.

Doubt Blanc will be viewed as the man to continue either, in their quest for Champions League success. If Mourinho hasn't signed with United, then Paris will surely be his next destination.

Tbh I think it takes a generation at least to consistently get to the level of the top clubs in Europe.

Despite being a United fan I would love it if City progressed further than Bayern especially if they beat them.

Deserved win by City, thought whilst PSG were pretty poor, the two City centre backs were solid especially after the (deserved) stick they've had. My only issue is with Otamendi and his ridiculous haircut and in particular the un-natural colour of his beard.

kingraf wrote:More intrigued by Barcelona Atletico tbh. Proper humdinger that is. The game in January coulda gone either way until it became 10v11 and then 11v11. They haven't beaten Barca that much recently but I think match up wise they present the greatest threat to them
did think they'd be a challenge to the might of Barca. So another treble winning team fails to defend the Big Ears. Remind me again how Guardiola's been a disappointment?

All that hard work in the first leg undone in 10 minutes. This one's over.

Jurgen walks into the dressing. Liverpool need three goals in a half to win. He goes up to the TV. Liverpool still have a shed load of VHS players due to a mate of Stevie's. So Jurgen bangs in a tape of Istanbul, winks at his players and walks away

I must admit i thought Dortmund would win this too but good job to Liverpool for getting back into it and finding what looks like the winner.

I looked at the 16/1 on offer at 15 minutes and thought "nah, no way"
Weird team, Liverpool. We'll probably get waxed in the semi now.

Re: UEFA Champions and Europa League 2015/16 Thread
What a match! Dortmund tactically and technically much better, but cannot fault the effort and heart of the Liverpool players. That is an incredible victory. Dortmund will be challenging for CL next sure I'm sure and I reckon they'd win the Premier League as well. That first half performance is the best team I've seen play Liverpool for a while. So delighted, that's probably the second/third best Liverpool game of my lifetime. Only Istanbul is definitely ahead, FA 2006 is up there and the 3-2 against Manchester City if it'd ended happier would be up there. But that was incredible. Never, ever would have happened under Rodgers. So bad in the first ten minutes, the fans were fantastic, really drove the team, wouldn't have happened otherwise I think.

I moan about Liverpool getting through but at least it's an excuse to go out on a Thursday (although I watched tonight's match in the house). Glad I didn't up the pub tonight as the local wannabe Scouse lot would have been unbearable
Expect my brother is happy though he is Liverpool fan. Cheers for wrecking my night bloody stupid Dortmund

Loved the typical football fan reactions at 2-0/3-1...learned a long time ago not to make snide comments until the final whistle :-)
What a game! Could easily have limped home to defeat at 2-0 after 10 mins but the players gave everything! Unbelievable result. So so happy, games like that are why football fans are football fans!!

Remember a couple of weeks ago when a few people rubbished the idea that the Liverpool Dortmund game wouldn't be the most interesting of the European ties with its back story etc and who cares about Klopp....
