Scotland don't have a bad recent history against the crims, could be closer than we may think.

Ffs. If you are going to fly out the line you need to make the tackle.

Good defence up until then. We just need to get some territory now. Restart crucial.

Unfortunate. Aus well on top and thoroughly deserve the first score but surely there was a knock on when the full back was tackled on the left earlier in the move?

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
We're really good with ball in hand. We're really bad when we're defending.
So why do we like kicking the ball away so much?
Here comes a restart............

Penalty back but I can't help feeling a SH side would have crossed the line. (No direct criticism of Laidlaw personally, but) Is there a SH in the northern hemisphere capable of recycling quick ball?

Denton has matured into such a phenomenal ball carrier. The raw talent was always there, but he seems to have more confidence in his immensely powerful strides. He is one of the key reasons Scotland are getting front foot ball here.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
If Australia can just keep within a score or two of Scotland they might be able to claw something back before half time. Not playing like this though. The Wallabies are clearly rattled and have reverted to an error ridden game, getting man-handled all around the park.

Amazing! Go Scotland!! (...If they were playing England, their opponents might even be accused of arrogance: expecting that to turn up was enough to win. )
PS: what a day it would be for Scotland to get their 32 year Twickenham monkey off their backs!

Yeah, right. and England really softened up Foley's kicking by using up all his successful kicks, too Let's all just concentrate on the pulsating game currently under way, not mention any more teams who have already been eliminated.

It's extremely frustrating that so many SH players go over and beynd the ball, and have hands and elbows on the floor when poaching, the NH teams are so much nicer about it...
I was always taught as a ref to never allow that sort of behaviour, but it seems acceptable here, that was a soft penalty.

That isn't really fair on Scotland we've all had a weeks rest before this game. It might be that Australia peaked too early against England and are now on a bit of a slide, but I think Scotland are just playing really well to be fair to them. I am worried that Scotlands self belief will start to fail them early in the second half though. Australia will probably just step it up s gear after half time.
