That isn't really fair on Scotland we've all had a weeks rest before this game. It might be that Australia peaked too early against England and are now on a bit of a slide, but I think Scotland are just playing really well to be fair to them. I am worried that Scotlands self belief will start to fail them early in the second half though. Australia will probably just step it up s gear after half time.
It was very much tongue in cheek i promise!

That seriously looked tractor trailer there for the Aussies.
Been a very good close match so far, I cant help but feel Scotland have to be in front by at least a score going into the last 20mins.

I can see Beale taking the kicks in the second half. We need to tighten up the defence as we can't rely on Oz missing more kicks.

So good to see Scotland playing with real belief, and I hope we can keep it up in the second half. Some great carries going in from Denton and the Grays, and was delighted to see Greig get in Foleys face after he's knocked the ball on. We need that kind of niggle if we're to knock big teams off their stride. Happy so far, come on boys

You are dead right Shifty (see my tongue in cheek reply 7 posts above yours). It is quite ridiculous to make any connection between past games and this one. Hang on, though - Foley's just missed a third conversion.
Scotland have played brilliantly and deserve their narrow h/t lead. But I've a nagging feeling that they are playing to their full while Aus - 3 tries already, without playing consistently well for sustained periods - have another gear or two in the box.

Scoreline very flattering for Australia. Feels like we're behind by more. Cheika needs to really give it to them at HT. The difference between the ABs and the Wallabies is so evident. Massive gulf in the ability to execute plays, retain possession with mistake free rugby.
Argentina would have run through them by now. If they don't improve... then we're out.

Whats your issue with Wales and the Welsh, you attack everyone you come across, and bring us up constantly. I'll not bother responding to someone like you in future so don't bother responding to this.
RE Joubert, few key decisions that have culminated in that try, the one in Australias half was awfl, not a fan.
I think Austrlia won't feel too bad right now, Foley kicking is awful, and Scoland looking for him when Aus hide hime in defence, but the scoreline doesnt reflect the fact that Aus have scored 3 tries already.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
Thoughts so far
Keep the ball in hand
Stop the box kicks (by all means do clearing kicks when needed but humo it up field and ffs chase the kick
Tighten up the defence
Stop flying out the line
Make the first up tackles
Many didn't give us a chance. We're still in this. We can do this if we keep our heads

I hate whinging about refs. Its bad enough when its on your own teams threads. I have no issue with the Welsh and I don't attack everyone. get a grip.

The way they are talking on tv Scotland are on top 3 tries to one down! Scotland must stop the tries Aust will give pens away rather than a try. With Folley kicking Scotland may need to give pens away rather than tries.

Aussie deliberately knocks on against England, not even a penalty, a Scot does it against them and it's a yellow card, starting to lose faith this refereeing.

My gosh Joubert is very harsh. Nasty, nasty, nasty refereeing there.
It looked clumsy but he was going for the intercept legitimately.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
I don't like those being awarded a yellow, but unfortunately the ruling is often that if you reach out one handed and knock it on then it is deliberate. Seen them yellow carded plenty. If he'd reached two handed he probably would have got away with it.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
50/50 for me but its really cost us. He didn't knock it upwards so he was never going to gather it. Its always a risk when you do that and he did it because he was out of position. Harsh to give the yellow.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
Sssshhhh TJ will tell you off.
Thats a poor decision, slow motion replay was always going to make it look worse, he is one handed at it, but it's an attempt to bring the ball in, he hasn't slapped it down whatsoever, Alex Cuthbert slap down is a yellow Card, this was not.

Re: QF4: Australia v Scotland, 18 October
The deliberate knock on rule is so subjective. I remember a 6N game a couple of years ago (better not mention the teams in case Fanster goes off on one again) where almost identical incidents by each side were judged on the hand as pen and yellow card and on the other as an accidental knock on.
I fear the decision in this case was harsh but right. Instinctive reaction alas is no defence.

I was thinking of exactly the same game, if you leave a decision like that up to judgement there will always be errors, sadly there are too many areas of the game where us refs have an opinion and trend on.

I think the IRB need to look at penalties. I watched too many games in this World Cup in which the advantage gained hasn't match the penalty.

Fantastic spot by Joubert to see Genia's little knock on and write off what would have been 27-19. Can we all now agree that he is actually having a good, two-eyed game?

I think the only mistake has been the yellow but that was the tmo's fault. Regarding the knock on- it was actually the assistant that spotted it

A good correct decision doesn't counter a bad wrong decision.
I dislike Joubert, he generally perceives the favourite as the better team and gives them an easier time of things.
