Are Choux buns like Choux pastry that you see on bake off. I always assumed it was 'shoe' pastry because they look shoes... (that galted would probably wear)
I see the founder of North Face has died (hypothermia of all things - should have worn one of his coats) so Galted is probably devastated. I'm not expecting to see him on here till his period of mourning is over.

Yes, although I'm not sure how one would differentiate between choux pastry and puff pastry. I saw that as well.
Tompkins had come to see the consumer culture that his clothing companies had promoted as "another destructive manifestation of an industrial growth economy toxic to nature".
All well and good saying that after you've made your billions.

I find that the packaging on food usually reveals some kind of clue as to what the food actually is.

I bet most of the people who signed the petition to ban Trump from Britain are the same sorts who bleat endlessly about freedom of speech.
Ban him for being a monumental tool, or for having an offensivetoupe haircut, but not for saying something F***ing stupid
Ban him for being a monumental tool, or for having an offensive

I have managed to escape Sloane Square this Friday. Clapham only now. Should be some hefty crumpet for the taking.

If your own brand of outdoor clothing isn't enough to save you from nature you don't deserve to be mourned.

Just seen a pic of a West Indian bowling a no ball in the test LD. Guy at our club who used to be a pro all rounder sent me it in an email entitled 'That isn't possible to do by accident'.

Only saw a few overs where they lost 2 wickets in quick succession, so I switched off for a while. Missed that no ball. Way, way out!
When I had another peep by late afternoon I was expecting 7 or 8 down... not a 300+ run partnership.
I thought Warrican would cause more trouble but the pitch dried out somewhat as the day wore on.

Took a box of Mr Kipling Frosty Fancies to the writers' group Xmas gathering last night, but no-one opened them so I brought them home again, along with the secret santa gift that I'd received at random - which was a box of Mr Kipling Frosty Fancies.

Well the general definition of Zany is un-conventional...
So if you want to break convention, don't wear one, and you will be filling the brief.

Awkward Jules but not surprising in this day and age. At least you'll have a good supply of Mr Kipling Frosty Fancies.
Saved this anecdote for my 46,000th...
On Monday this 65 y.o. Nepalese man turned up here offering to do some odds jobs. It felt like a nice communal gesture or offering at the time.
Thought I'd do the right thing so I handed him a paint brush and he went straight to work.
He did about 6 hours a day... blistering heat yesterday and pretty hot today as well. I suggested he concentrate inside rather than out.
I didn't understand a word he said. He only talked to me in Nepalese and looked confused when I said I couldn't understand him.
Very peaceful old chap... always a smile on his grey-bearded dial.
Gave him $447.70 or £296.06 for about 3-4 days work... about 18.5 hours.
That's about $22/hour + GST (VAT) £14.50/hr... or about 5 bucks over the minimum wage here.
Is that too much or too little? Anyway, I feel happy for the guy. He obviously wants to be active and feel involved in something.
