After the calamitous start it now is progressing really well.
Need to fit out the kitchen and bathrooms/laundry. Then a bit of joinery, painting and carpets. Then I can move back in. Whack some grass down and fiddle around with the outdoor areas... some planting, etc. The pool bloke starts in a week or so.

Strangely the exterior of the house was pretty much how I imagined it, as in the wooden cube type structures, looks nice.

In all fairness it does come with the caveat that you're living in Rotherham so it is not all upside.

It was good. I was relatively sensible but a couple of my mates let themselves down badly having spent the entire afternoon drinking home made spirits. They got thrown out of Drouthies after falling off their bar stools for the third time. Always strange going back to certain pubs and seeing the same people that were drinking there 20 years ago.

My day is mixed today, had all the mortgage stuff go through, but I am in an all day meeting and just received a tax bill, tossers...

Steady one for me. Boss is off, couple of easy applications to prepare and a client coming in to thank me which could well mean a wildly inappropriate gift of some sort.

I have to give all gifts back, even wine, though it does go in a charity auction to be fair. We can sometimes take hospitality once a contract is signed and sealed.

You expecting a goats head or a sacrifice to their pagan gods in your honour or something Jeff? That would be quite a raffle prize.

We can take them up to £50 as long as we declare them. I'd like a bottle of single malt but suspect chocolates is more likely. My old boss once got a wall clock in the shape of Kenya. After that you become a little hard to shock.

We're not even allowed to give out company logo pens!

I got a magnum of wine the other week. About 40 quids worth. Swapped it with my old man for a bottle of whiskey.

We are not allowed even that...  I once received a book about Oracle software, it had a value of around £80, I declared the sh1t out of that one, I hope whoever won it in the raffle enjoys it.

We used to get hospitality all the time, but the bribery and corruption act has stopped that, banking execs are to blame, and probably Brexit and Muslims too I expect.

Ah well, not to worry Shah, you have probably saved me from so many hours trying to act sober at a free bar. The company logo pen thing is kinda confusing though, you would think the advertising would be a good thing

Our business depends on passing trials and selling to pharmacies. The government is concerned that giving them pens might unduly influence them.

I know that my local drug dealers all hand out stationery at the local schools and it does help to get the kids hooked, so maybe they have a point.

On a more (Jeff) work related note, I have a few friends in Ireland, who moved over there about 15 years ago tapping me up for references now for dual passports.

Afternoon all, my daughter "graduated" from Nursery today (FFS), thankfully didn't have to take time off for it, but had to spend my own free time once again confirming that my daughter is smarter than all the frigtards in her class.

We don't get complimentary stuff at work. On those occasions when we do get a conviction at Court we might get someone stop long enough to say that we don't deserve thanks cos that it's our f*cking job and that it's what these people pay their taxes for.

Client has not been in yet so I can't confirm whether a, he brought me a gift, or b, whether it is complete shyte. The smart money is on both of those answers being in the affirmative.
