Mourinhos got his work cut out anyway.
Another shambles of a performance apparently.

didnt even watch it, not really fussed about this but it would be nice to see a bit of fight from the players trying to keep/gain their spot in the starting line up

Considering the strength of the side put out, that is really poor.

we weren't ever just going to turn into a good side from a bad side overnight. think there has to be a element of patience, which most fans wont considering the signings of zlatan and pogba.
our transfer policy has been poor for quiet some time, fergie left a weak squad, moyes weakened us even further. and who knows what van gaal was doing. its going to take some time but do think the team is getting better

Even so you should be able to turn over Feyenoord with the side you put out.

Fergie left a decent squad.
Lack of effort is a major concern for me.

we started that season with a midfield of anderson, cleverly and carrick with our attacking wide options were valencia, nani and young. cant say it was brilliant, we had a very old defence, evra had long since given up defending and rafael never knew how to in the first place. fergie got the best out of them and mainly rvp but the squad was poor.

They'd just won the league at a canter and pushed real close in the cl knock out stages.
Wasn't our best ever but don't think it was poor by any stretch of the imagination.

The squad and league that year both poor. Then RVP basically reverted to the body he'd had at Arsenal so no one was there to carry you.
I watched. United were unimaginative. Best moments were late on when they went direct

It was a decent squad but as Dolph said the league that year was entering its lull in quality, and RVP stopped trying once he had the PL win he came for/SAF left.

The effort isn't there, think they can just turn up and win currently.
Not doing the basics such as working hard. Pogba biggest culprit.
Rooney will continue to be undroppable given the performances of others.

The big difference maker was Ferguson, he managed to get one last season of quality out of players who were either too old or not good enough, the league wasn't that bad either.

A lot of what I've seen from United this year, there best moments come from direct balls. Fellani/Ibra using there height and strength in the box to cause issues. Admittedly not a bad option to have but it shouldn't be one they rely on every game!

Paul Scholes reported as saying that Utd should now buy Modric or Kroos to rein in Pogba as he's "all over the place"
Sounds about right, sp*nk away another £60-70 million because your £90million signing just isn't good enough!

I think if United want to get the best out of Pogba they're going to have to go to a three man midfield and allow him more free-reign.
Just like England a lot of the problems stem from not being able to drop Rooney really.

cracking game this, felt like we should have come out and pressed city like this in the derby but mourinho is too cautious for that. just shows they can crack when pressed

What a brilliant game, a CL classic, City are so quick and clever in their movement but felt we did great too, Dembele is the real deal and my man crush on Tom Rogic and Kolo Toure knows no bounds.
The atmosphere was absolutely incredible, one of the best I can ever remember, hopefully the City fans enjoyed the experience and hopefully they take 3pts off Gladbach
I could watch Kieran Tierney vs Raheem Sterling every week, what a battle they had, proper football, winger vs fullback

Guardiola has got to be well disappointed in Bravo so far. After all the fuss of replacing Hart, he's been pretty dire.

Away to Barcelona provides a stern test. As mentioned, until the red card Man City were competitive. Sometimes it is hard to play against ten - because they focus on defence. Apparently, this was not the case for Man City. Following on from a 100% winning start Pep has faltered BUT two loses away at Tottenham and away at Barcelona and a very unlucky draw at home to Everton are not disasters. Man City still lead the premiership (early days) and are in second place in their champions league table.

to be fair... on the same match day, Neuer picked out Lewandowski with a 60 yard pass under pressure which ended with the ball in the back of the net.

To be fair neuer is one of the best goalkeepers in the world before you look at his footwork/passing.

I think Bravo forget he left Barcelona and hence he's passed it to Suarez
All jokes aside it was a howler, but Bravo is a good keeper. Not Neuer standard, but good nonetheless

I think Pochettino's style can work, but when they're playing two times a week with largely the same eleven players with his demands, the players end up being exhausted and they do look exhausted.
It's why Klopp last year ended up having to play kids and back up players in the league when we were deep in cup runs.

Astonishing goal. One you have to take a look at at least twice. The Man Utd defence were momentarily zombified, not quite understanding what had just happened. There was a time when Wayne Rooney was attempting these shots, similarly Ibrahimovic. I thought Dick Advocaat said his job at Sunderland was going to be his last - but there he is managing Fenerbahce.Just John wrote:https://youtu.be/b9Be5BW9_-w
