The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Cari wrote:Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I feel conflicted about it, but the overriding emotion is disappointment.
His heart isn't in it. You can see that. He wants to play in a World Cup. He doesn't want to play for Fiji.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Has he declined a call-up then, Mickado?

I know what you mean Mick. I'd love to have seen him on the World Stage. But I suppose if his heart isn't in it, then it's the right choice.

Ah yeah, you can’t blame him. I’m more disappointed by the circumstances that means he won’t play. But sure it’s all amicable so that’s good at least.
And a major plus of it all is that he’s available to Leinster all season now, his presence in the team this season can’t be understated. He’s a true professional and is up there in the top foreign signings ever for Leinster. He’s due a legends t-shirt next season I reckon.

I know Stag agrees with me on this but Vinny Munro is a fine referee. You barely even notice he's there.

I remember watching Nacewa playing for the Auckland Blues and I never thought he'd make as much of an impact as he has. He's been talismanic for Leinster.

The hall mark of any top referee and one of the reasons I'm not a fan of Nigel Owens or Roman Poite who I think draw too much attention to themselves compared to say Craig Joubert.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He was good for the Blues, but I don't think he would have ever become a fixture in the All Blacks squad. He might have gotten a complimentary cap but that's it.

Wasn't he a 10 then? I remember he was poor at flyhalf when he arrived.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He switched between fly half and full back.

I remember being under the west stand in Twickenham for Leinster v Wasps in 09 sweating over the fitness of (I think) Darcy, because if he was out that meant Dr Phil went to 12 and Isa went to 10. And Isa was no 10, certainly not up here.

Anyway, never understood the use of 'brogue' to describe an accent. It means shoe doesn't it?

The Irish word for an accent is a barróg (not sure how its spelt). Bróg is a shoe.

Staggy - Damn right I will! Two words: David Wallace! (We badly need a drool smiley) Seriously, in Cardiff on Heino day I was walking around with my tongue out at some of the talent I spotted - all in Irish shirts. And I don't just mean on the pitch.
And may I say there is talent in this pub too (not mentioning any names like )

Actually I don't think I'd like to meet anyone on that sort of site. Judging by the title, it seems to be designed for people who think looks are the most important thing in a relationship?

A monster 20 phases from the Chiefs to get within range of the DG well beyond 80 mins and my gran could have had a better stab at it than the Chiefs' flyhalf! Game finishes 18-18 - not sure what that does for playoffs?
No impact on the playoffs As, this match was for the NZ conference wooden spoon.

If you want some kind of barometer, the regulars on "A League of Their Own" (Jamie Redknapp, Freddie Flintoff, John Bishop and James Corden) signed up for the Spanish beautiful people (so they wouldn't be recognised by whoever checks the applicants) and Redknapp, Flintoff and Bishop made it. James Corden sadly didn't make the cut.
The initial article linked said that Irish people could help themselves by not submitting as many pictures of them in the pub, which leads me to believe that some of them may not have been 100% serious about their application. It sounds like something a group of mates could do for a laugh, see who gets accepted and who doesn't.

Robbo - There must be some who take it seriously, and are gutted if their application is refused. I bet there's some sort of ratings system as well on it if you are registered.

must be a very slow news day.....
In truth though what would you guys do individually in a Zombie invasion.
I would probably head to my local B&Q or HomeBase and improvise some kind of weapons to fight them off.
Or just go to the Malt Whiskey Society in Edinburgh and get so jaked I don't care what happens..... a bit like when I prepare to go and watch Scotland Play
