First topic message reminder :

I've just got an email from NFL.com saying that you can now sign up for the 2011 season. Having never played before I'm not sure I'm the person to set the league up but I'll certainly join if someone else does.

On a slightly related note, has anyone seen 'The League', the comedy show from the producers of Curb Your Enthusiasm?

No shocks whatsover in our draft, Steven Jackson didn't shift until about 30th pick but other than that everything went to form

Niners - your RB set look OK but I think your receivers are weak, and they all come from run first offences.
But you'll never get 15 guns....

matty ryan going in the 2nd was a bit of a shock

niner-I feel the opposite of Grizzly, I think your RBs are weak and your WRs are strong. Wallace, Holmes and Williams are their respective teams #1 WRs and Edwards is worth a flier as your 4th WR whereas after McFadden (injury concern) I’m not keen on the RBs. You could probably improve on Gresham at TE2 as well. Stafford could be primed for a big year if he stays healthy.

twelve - they're solid receivers but from run first offences and for teams who are likely to have winning seasons so expect plenty of clock killing late in games.
Could also be a tough pick at QB every week....

sorry chaps, but its NFL FL stupid question time (again!)

1) are trades just swaps, player for player? is there any limit?

2) what are waivers? i'm ranked no.2 in the east

3) do you pick players game by game, or week by week?

1 yes
2 when you pick up a Free Agent you are 2nd choice to claim that player, this only counts if more than 1 person goes for the same player
3. both

1) Yes trades are just swaps for players but the amount of players traded can vary (eg you can do 1 player for 5)

2)Waivers arent that important in preseason but its basically the priority of pick which you can get a player that hasnt been selected on a team (eg if waiver 3 and waiver 5 both try to pick up 'the next mike vick' waiver three would get the player). You tend to find out whether youve got aa player on the wednesday

3)PLayers a re week by week and are usually locked in the day b4 the game. Quite anoying when your taking a risk on a questyionable player in a later game

Gutted I missed the draft last night - bloody faulty broadband!! Anyway, managed to set my draft board and preferences last week and have gotten a half decent team out of it - wouldn't say I've got any players I could hang my hat on to have a huge season but defo some potential there if everything falls into place.

I need DeAngelo Williams to bounce back big time this season - if he does then potentially I've got two stud RBs in him and LeSean McCoy. Hopefully Peyton Manning will get over his neck problems and his WRs can all stay healthy this year! Got Anquan Boldin too which sounds great but I had him last year as well and ended up benching him halfway through as he was rubbish!

My most intriguing player is Julio Jones. I ranked him probably too high on my board but I think he could have a really big year. Only thing is, he's my number 2 WR which is a bit of a reach. Might be looking for a wee trade to try and get my hands on a solid number 2 WR. I've got Bernard Berrian too but let's face it, I might as well have me in there as him!!

I wanted Jones too 25 but I was busy with QBs and RBs and missed him.
Everyone appears to have him down as a shoo-in for the OROTY - I don't think he'll let you down.

Someone mentioned it yesterday but having 14 teams in a league means the talent disappears very quickly, everyone will have weak links it's unavoidable.

I'm in an NFL managed 10 team league as well and have Rodgers, Brady, DJax, VJax and Foster, all of which would have been off the board halfway through the 3rd round in our draft

i went 13th (in the East), so i had 13th and 16th and then had to wait until 41st for my next pick, which seemed an eternity at the time Shocked

good fun though (even if i did burn my supper furious )

LOL.
Very few trades get done because as yesterday proved people think they can offload a 4th choice player and get a gun.
Not sure how it'll work in this league with increased numbers but definitely last year there were plenty of FA choices

How many teams do people have on the NFL Fantasy site? I'm up to seven teams (across two accounts) and gave three leagues set up.

I have two main teams - the one in the 606v2 West and then one in a NFL managed account which I have created a Twitter account (lasvegasknights) for and solely picked players with Twitter accounts so I can give them some encouragement throughout the season.

I have also created a few leagues - a private one, a public one (both standard scoring) and a third based of real scores + (QB TD passes).

Will be creating one more league based solely on actual/ real scores (not including QB touchdown passes). The idea being you get proper scoring games like 27-34 etc.

If anyone is interested, I'll post in on here first before going public.

Does anyone play fantasy on any other sites? Reviews welcome.

Hmm I dunno at first glance it looks like Pr4WN is having a larff, however, if you look at objectively it not as stupid as it looks, lets dig a little deeper.

The 49rs have a new H/C in Harbaugh a former QB in the NFL who whilst coaching down at Stanford had a team that threw the ball a lot, ok I know Smith is no Luck but I am looking at Harbaugh to bring back a pass first O to the 49rs, Smith is a former #1 pick who threw well in College and the 49rs have added a solid WR in Edwards to compliment Crabtree and they also have a darn good TE in Davies. Gore has carried the 49rs over the last few seasons and has take some knocks he missed parts of last season with a thigh injury, the 49rs have elvated rookie Kendal Hunter to #2 RB who will take some snaps for Gore not goal line stuff but enough to reduce his productivity and his points.

Ocho was the #1 WR for the Bengals and even a poor teams such as them was a top 10 WR over the last few seasons yes age is catching up but in the Pats offence he will not have to worry about being targeted as Brady has a number of weapons but Ocho will still see around 65+ catches for 850+yds and around 9-12 TD this season he will be the Pats main deep threat WR and will be their top Red Zone guy. Gore is the #1 RB in San Fran but is a low end #1 fantasy RB where as Ocho is a #1 WR and mid- #2WR if I was weak at WR and stacked at RB it might be worth a look at but not on a 1-1 basis look at a package of 2 trades to see if ytou can balance out.

As a Patriots fan I feel qualified to jump in on this. Firstly I wouldn't count on Ochocinco achieving that stat line, he's had trouble picking up our more complicated offense (which he's admitted himself) and as a result has not looked good in PS. ATM he's #3 on the WR depth chart behind Welker and Branch or #4 when Hernandez is split out.

I doubt he'll be the top red zone guy either with the two TEs.

I consider Ochocinco as a WR3 or a WR2 at best if he picks it up IMHO. Time will tell.

I have set up a league on the NFL Fantasy website with a bit of a difference.

Only actual points scored in the real games count. So a TD = a TD, a FG = a FG and so on.

This means QB are low scoring and kickers are the high scorers and the scores should be real ie 24-17 etc.

The draft is scheduled for 4pm this afternoon and there are a few spots up for grabs. If you are interested login to NFL Fantasy click join a league and then custom and it's competition Super 16.
