NFL.com fantasy football
First topic message reminder :
I've just got an email from NFL.com saying that you can now sign up for the 2011 season. Having never played before I'm not sure I'm the person to set the league up but I'll certainly join if someone else does.
On a slightly related note, has anyone seen 'The League', the comedy show from the producers of Curb Your Enthusiasm?

Regarding QBs, that is what the trade functions are for!

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
If I'm honest I think this has been set up too soon if people like Skins are missing out.
There's a good 2 months to go before it needs to set up properly, how about seeing how many we attract between now and then and if we manage to get e.g 24 teams we could have two leagues of 12, 28 teams 2 leagues of 14 etc.
Seems the membership in here is growing all the time, come week 1 we could easily have another dozen regular posters....

Well we will have to see.
Like I said, there's plenty of time between now and then. If interest grows significantly then we can bin this league and set up a couple of new ones.
At least this one gives us something to be excited about!

20 teams is a hell of a lot, by the last quarter of the draft we will reaally be scraping the barrel

Just means we'll have to draft clever in the early rounds.

Why not just set up another league? If there are 20 teams then some will be without a starting quarterback for bye weeks.

loving the forgetting brandon marshall name btw whoever that is.
Do we get a bench for players? if so during the draft just avoid qbs with the same by week

You do get a bench, what he means is, there are 32 starting QBs in the league, so not everyone can draft 2 QBs if there are 20 teams

Glad someone likes it. I was gonna go with something generic.

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
20 teams is far too many unless you have a really small roster of x1 qb/wr/te/rb and 1 dst and kicker, you cant even have back up DST and your 2nd string QB will be bench QB, and by the time picks 18-19-20 come in the players will be picking up 2nd/3rd ranked players, then those who picked 1st in the 2nd round will be drafting 5th/6th ranked players.
There is nothing to stop a 2nd 606 league being set up a division 2 if you like and you could make it more fun by having the bottom 4 from the 1st league being relegated into the 2nd league and the top 4 from the 2nd league promoted

Well seeing as no one has signed up since the expansion we can go back to 16 before having to kick out team 17

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
I think we may have to re-size.
Like I said, if we garner sufficient interest, we'll have to have two seperate leagues.
Plenty of time for all this to pan out.

20 is far too many imo.
two leagues of 10 or two leagues of 12 would be far better.

I agree 2 smaller leagues would be best but just see how many we have by mid august as long as everybody who wants to play can get into the leagues
If anybody wants to run more than 1 team I have just set up a league anybody on here is welcome
14 teams ,everybody plays each other once 8 teams make playoffs

i agree 20 teams is to much and another league created.
shouldnt we keep it open for people who hasnt already got a team to join aslike said before we have an ever growing community and well get the more demand than supply issue later on when our community grows bigger

Just to keep things simple, I'll organise the leagues for 606v2 on NFL.com.
Saves any confusion. We'll see what kind of interest we have by mid-august and make a decision then.

Thats fine by me ,my league was totaly independant of 606 ,it was just if anybody wanted to play in more than 1 league not instead of any 606 league

I'm good with that... after all your the moderator for a reason :p
Personally I like the idea of a double league... would work well over the future as you could build in promotions and relegation between the two in addition to replacing inactive owners.
If we get a list up of those that have expressed an interest it will be easy to keep track of whose in and the "regulars" that aren't (perhaps due to being away etc.)

Just sign up to NFL.com and join in. If we are sticking to 20 teams as sportsville is team 17 there are 3 spots left.

I'd hang about Moot. This is still in its infancy and it looks as though we'll be having two seperate leagues.
More updates will be issued in due course.

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
I am the only person on here that would rather have a 16/ 20 team tournament?
Surely the more teams you have the more competitive the league will be? It you have small 10/ 12 team leagues then one or two teams can get a handful of googd players and dominate. Atleast if there are 16/ 20 teams the top players will be spread out more evenly and the manager's ability to pick up a bargain and pick the right team each week comes more into play.

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
Most would disagree with your sportsville.
One player would find it hard to dominate as the draft system is very fair, allowing each team to get top players in turn.
Secondly, with larger league, the QB position becomes a problem during bye weeks. There are only 32 starting QBs in the league and so some people won't have QB during the bye week.

With a twenty team league the draft would take ages, you'd have a hell of a wait between picks.

Guys, I'm relaxed about it, I'll go with whatever is decided.
My only comment was that signing up now pretty much outcasts any new members who join the board over the next few weeks.

I'm thinking of creating a fantasy league where you draft 2 LBs, 2 DBs, 2 DLs and no TM. Each team would have 21 players with 10 starters. Thinking of 8-12 teams.
What do you guys think?

Not sure if you have to be logged in but there was questions on the message boards about a team forgetting password and needing to change it. Might have to get the league manager to do it or something????
