For clarity the LRZ “knock on” wasn’t a knock on as it didn’t go forward to another player or onto the ground.
Surprisingly the refs in charge know the laws of the game
Correct. It went backwards off his leg. No knock-on and a fair try.
All four qualified officials thought it was a try, not one thought it was a knock-on. Strange, eh?
I think you must just be wumming now as the laws clearly say it was a knock-on - there's nothing about it being OK if it hits a leg. If that was allowed all those players that fumble the ball then kick it would be OK ...

It was a knock on as he didn't re-gather the ball.
Show me the law that says the player has to regather it. You can’t as it doesn’t exist.
It is NOT a knock on until it hits another player or the ground. He knocked it forward but then it hit himself and the ball went backwards to ground (not forwards) therefore it is not a knock on
It goes forward off his hand. It's irrespective that it then fell and hit his leg going backwards.....it went forward off his hand/arm....hence a knock on.
It was a knock on, they've messed up. It happens, we move on.

It’s annoying how Youngs always plays well against Wales. I feel Hardy was a little hit or miss.

If England do lose, it'll be almost entirely self-inflicted, though Wales have played well in stages.
Yet another penalty gives Wales the lead.

Nope. This is entirely relevant. You can't knock the ball into yourself.

I've quoted the law at least twice .... it says it's not a knock on if THE SAME PLAYER CATCHES THE BALL before it hits another player or the ground ...

Had LRZ kicked it forward it would have been a knock on (knocked forward and hits the ground)
He didn’t kick it forward. It went backwards. Therefore it’s not a knock on.
For the sake of balance the first Welsh try shouldn’t have been given. There. Now everyone is happy.

Biggar was kicking quite poor today, Sheedy is probably assured to start Vs Italy. I hoped it would be sooner.

It’s gone off his hands forward. At that point the only thing that can save a knockdown is the same player catching it. Not knocking it back past the original knock on. Not kicking it.tigertattie wrote:Heaf wrote:Duty281 wrote:tigertattie wrote:Commentary team still saying “he’s knocked it on...... maybe” and laughing.

There is no original knock-on. Off the hands forward into your own body part is not, at any point, a knock-on.

It went forwards off his hand - after that the only way it's not a knock-on is if he catches it before it hits another player or the ground - have you actually read the law - genuine question as if you had I can't understand why you'd still be arguing about it?

Yes, but only if it goes forward. Which this doesn't. It clearly goes backward. Any qualified referee (like the ones on the field) will tell you the same.
14th penalty conceded by England, again in combination. Can't hope to beat many nations with that sort of count. And a two score lead means it's surely all over.

Forget refs and interpretations of the laws.
England’s indiscipline is what has (potentially at this time) cost them this game.
If France get pulled from the 6ns by their own sports minister then only Italy stand in the way of wales picking up the title.

It's simple really. Rewind to the point he fumbles. Now mark the first point the ball is either caught by liz or it touches the ground or another player.is that point behind where he loses control.

Even with those pens I just think England were good value for a win today.

Ah well England battered. Ref was very poor, for both teams at times. Not sure what was up with his breakdown interpretation.

Deserved bonus for Wales. Embarrassing defeat for England who hit a new low. Certainly can't see England beating France, Ireland will be tough.
