(Lets get skeletal... Too soon?)
It really is shocking how actors get old even though they stay the same age in the films and TV shows they make.
In personal news. The b@stards never got back to me although it was a great job that I could have done and one they will find very hard to fill. I have however had verbal confirmation that I am getting at least a month's freelance work from some old contacts of mine, plus an offer from them to tout me to some of their contacts, so it looks like I am plotting my own course at least for a while.

Sorry to hear that, LIW, though it seems it's not all bad. At least you won't be bugging the rest of us to buy a a Big Issue off you (apologies if that's the job you were after).

Job history - failed interview for role as big issue salesman. Yep.
One of the interviewers called the role a 'solution architect', which isn't quite right but required someone to help clients find the right tools and methodology to do the job. That in turn requires expert knowledge of the subject matter and the ability to talk to clients and think on your feet. I'd actually be surprised if anyone has that particular skill set. I don't have the particular expert knowledge but know a great deal in related areas and would have been able to pick it up very quickly.
Life is certainly a bit of a roller coaster at the moment.

Hang in there rick.
Can't believe some rivers are starting to dry up in Europe. Just saw pictures of the Rhine with all the discarded bikes now exposed.
Here, we had pretty severe water restrictions. No garden hoses on lawns and gardens*... only hand-held watering cans. Then it was slightly eased until only after 4pm after several months of full water restrictions. People got quite desperate about it but then there were others reporting those who infringed the rules when walking or driving by. Dob in your neighbour sort of thing. Zero tolerance and hefty fines were applied.
Then we had so much rain all at once. Don't think there was any official statement saying the water bans had been lifted - or it wasn't clearly publicised. It's been like that for about two years now. Dams are pretty full right now but it only takes a year or two before we again reach low levels in certain places... and the water restrictions will no doubt kick in again.
* Golf courses excepted of course. Typical!

Galted's 3rd person thing reminds me of former lawyer and prohibition era gangster George Remus.
A real character.
As a (very successful) lawyer he developed the defense of temporary insanity. Many years later his wife ran off with the money he had put in her name to protect it from the authorities while he was in jail. She ran off with the government agent who had been placed in jail with him to find out more about the money. Anyway when he finally got out of jail he found his now ex wife and shot her dead in public, pleading temporary insanity...

Good to see LiW once more being paid for not working but we now have to contend with the fact that Tina has died again.
I didn't much care for this version of Tina (I just couldn't buy him as a non-binary dressmaker's assistant) so I'm excited to see how this regeneration goes.

How was Jamaica?
Did you try to contact Duty's Mum to tell her what a good boy he's been... or no such luck?

Barbados, not Jamaica. But it was very nice thanks. Much the same as Runcorn - great climate, great beaches, great people. Not much to dislike about the place. It has been about 15 years since I last went (Barbados, not Runcorn) and I swear most of the construction that was underway back then is still only half finished but that is the pace out there. And it is a pace I quite enjoy these days.
I did ask around about Duty but no one seemed to know him or his mum. Well, a few people knew his mum. Actually, on reflection, loads of people know his mum.

Barbados of course. I somehow had that 10cc song on my mind.
Talking of beaches, I saw a few shots of Southend on the news the other day. The place looked packed. I suppose the sharks have long since gone. Those bloody 16th C Belgian fishermen must have fished the Channel out. Those that survived were then most likely consumed as "fish" and chips by the locals.

I am.
I watched you arrive at the station but slipped away when it became clear you're not a King of any description.
Not true. He is the king of Wide Area Networks.

I'm not dead. Was just on holiday.
Did I miss riCk'S quiz?
6. Yes
l*l
Looks like you've got a landmark post coming up. Try not to f*ck it up.
I'll try my best. Only a massive c*nt would mess up a palindrome post.
PJ has a monopoly on palindromes and Julius on being a massive c*nt. It's the 20 000 I'm getting excited about.
Only six to go. We're counting on you.

Ah you may have hit a stumbling block there because my real name isn't actually Duty.
I'm still not over Tino telling me he was Keeley Hawes long lost identical twin. That train ticket cost £120.
We're all catfishing each other. I thought you were King Carlos V, but he died centuries ago. The only genuine one on here is Julius.

Rick is also quite genuine. He's from the north.
