More of a throwback rather that a redux. Reminds me a bit of the 4 page rant about Mark Lawrenson I sent into the BBC in 2010 after he moaned his way through the Spain v Germany semi-final. The BBC declined my invitation to air my opinions on Points of View and also my suggestion that Lawrenson and I should meet in person on Football Focus to discuss my criticism of him.

Clearly a terrible human being. I wish I'd kept a copy of the e-mail I sent to the BBC - it was a furious stream of consciousness written right after the final whistle.

Choosing between France and Argentina is like trying to choose your favourite nonce.
But I have to work with the French so rooted for the Belgrano boys this one time.

I think Harris is my favourite. Although I'm fond of the Lost Prophets singer as well.

Hanging on is probably the right term.
Was planning on heading to the Motherland before Xmas but having been marooned in France for 2 days, I can't be bothered now. Probably go between Xmas and NY.
How about you?

I never knew Richard Harris was a nonce. This is heartbreaking to hear.

Pretty good cheers, though probably not getting home, just winding it down after a pretty busy year and the rents are up this end.
Were you in France for the final?

Not for the final but was for the England game. I did receive a fair amount of abuse once the locals worked out I was English but none of it resulted in violence which was a shame.
What they didn't realise is that most Canadians are fluent in French and so the names they were calling me were all names Mrs Windows has already used many times over. I am quite strong on French swear words.

I deal with the French quite a bit, usually, when on calls we have a couple of Bi Lingual guys who act as interpreters, my spoken French is not great at all, but I can understand a reasonable amount, certainly enough to know when I am having the p155 taken, always nice to wait till they crack on then answer back in, albeit very broken, French.

Was on a teams meeting with some French colleagues in a previous job with the automatic transcription thing set on. Having it set on English was a real joy.

He did say there were some beautiful people there, so I think that discounts Northwich and probably the entire North-West.

No.2 son discovered raspberry vodka last night. I am not sure if he'll be able to smell a raspberry without gagging for a long long time.
At least it doesn't smell so bad on the way back up.

Had a similar incident with olives once. I think it was 1995. All I can really remember is Everton were playing Man Utd in the FA Cup final.
I'd met this southern lass in Liverpool a few weeks before on some girls night out and after some phone calls over the next couple of weeks, decided to get the train down to some place in Surrey to meet her. I was early so sat in some boozer watching the final. I was slightly bemused by there being a bowl full of olives rather than the usual Northern serving of fags and severed fingers so munched away on olives for a few hours.
Then got f*cking battered through the evening and spent the morning basically vomiting up olive oil. Took me at least 15 years before I could eat olives again.
She stopped answering my calls. Only had landlines back then. I realised it was over when her dad answered and told me she didn't want to talk to me anymore.

Finishing up at lunchtime today and off until the 5th. Will be at home so don't need anyone to do the bins, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a nice thing for one or all of you to do.

I live in an apartment complex so don't have to take the bins out myself, but am growing increasingly frustrated at the Russian and Chinese tenants who don't grasp the concept of flatpacking boxes. I've considered visiting the offending flats but am afraid of being beaten up and so bravely suffer my fury in silence.

The most recent drama in my block of flats is that they have been forced to close down the Rubbish chutes in some of the buildings, mainly due to silly c**ts putting stupid stuff down there, and at least one time where the Fire Brigade had to come out.
You would now think that the trip to the bins was a mix of those poor African kids walking 20 miles with heavy buckets to get water, or, because the car park is slightly less well lit, a trip through the LA projects where you might be raped or sold for drugs or both.
