Lovely stuff, alfie. Not a word we see often on here.
Reminds of the time Jeff used 'oeuvre' when describing some j*zz singer.
Although he was being deliberately pompous whereas I suspect yours is accidental pomposity.

No, you read it right. First mend the bird and then mend the otter.
I'll apologise to him later so as not to hurt his feelings.
You best do that, he's not someone you want to cross. He can be brutal with his mod superpowers.
Me brutal? He literally wants to nuke the entire planet!
That's a bit unpleasant of him but it's nothing like changing my name to 'knobhead' or banning me for posting about video games.
I didn't change your name to Knobhead. That was just a joke - and you fell for it!
The ban was entirely justified.

I'm getting tired of all this nuclear phobia nonsense. A little extra daily dose of radiation should be embraced; not feared. But like most things, only in moderation of course. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I mean, you don't really want your knob glowing too brightly, do you Galts? Just enough glow for it to be a casual talking point amongst other guests in a restaurant setting but not too much so as to make fun of it... and then get forcibly removed from your table (by a recently arrived waiter in broken English) causing unnecessary embarrassment to yourself, Galtova and Junior. There's no way Marianne Faithfull would put up with that either!
Oh and sorry Jules. I tried to type "lazy sod"... and bloody spell-checker thought it knew better.

Had a big work thing yesterday where the company leadership was talking about how it was going to spend a few hundred million pounds over the next couple of years whilst hoping to start generating some income and more investment.

Was expecting the humping, and don't have Sky so didn't have to witness either event.
Ferrell did make a comment on Tw*tter about Birmingham City needing a new owner and I made an excellent riposte along the lines of 'it'll be the first time anything you've been involved with has raised a laugh'. I expected it to go viral and to have earned me a vast amount of money and adoration by this morning but it seems it was either not seen or ignored. Growing a bit disillusioned with the internet, if I'm honest.

If I was on Tw*tter I would have liked it, or poked it or t*k t*kked it or whatever the process is. You made me chuckle, pal.
Ferrell looked very happy to be there. He is a smug c*nt.
Whenever I am feeling disillusioned with t'internet, I just send d*ck pics to the folk on Mumsnet. Either that or look up BBW midgets on YouPorn. Gets me back in the spirit.

Ordered a new battery charger yesterday, has a progress display and can charge them individually instead of in pairs. Expected to arrive today so my disillusionment should be a thing of the past by this evening.

The item I bought is a device for recharging AA or AAA batteries (or dry cells). To recharge one's batteries is a phrase referring to a person resting to recuperate mentally or physically. Thus, after due consideration, I can confirm that the joke works.

Currently being temporarily redeployed pending arrival of my software, whenever that might be. Being really honest its the kind of thing that should have been in place long before I joined, because I suspect there are many things that have been designed already that could have used my area of expertise.
Very happy to be part of the company and excited for the future, just frustrated I can't yet do the job I was hired to do.

I'll leave it for a week or two and, if there's no sign of either of them, I might call someone a 'slag'. A bit of libel/slander will have them rushing out of hiding.

Fist. Where are all you young whippersnappers? It shouldn't be left to the likes of me or fellow dodderer Alfie to start the day off here.
Anyway, I'm assuming none of you lot were Raquel Welch. I thought it was good and appropriate of the England cricket team to don black armbands in memory of her and her connection with the England side and then I find out they're being worn due to Cyclone Gabrielle!
And just in case anyone wasn't aware, the son of lovely Raquel was married for a short time to the daughter of fiery Fred Truman. Not the most natural combo perhaps for the wedding table.

If I was aware of the Welch/Truman connection I'd forgotten it. Had a quick look for images of Original Freddie's daughter and I have to say it's a resounding 'might've'.
