Morning, Galts.
Morning Rick. Impressive work, being top of that group, even if there is still a way to go.

Yep, I loads of foot ball still to play, but it was nice to shut those Ultra c**ts up marching and causing s**t in the city until they got to the ground and got drowned out, lovely stuff.

Yep, thanks, all good. PJ's tipping competition is taking a heavy toll on my mental health but I'm combating it with regular visits to the ale shelf at Sainsbury's Charlton.

Fairly average, weather is turning all Northern, and having to start coming to terms with the fact that I have all the in laws over for Xmas as it is their turn.
But football and cricket is good, so there is that.

Oh come on!
You're doin' great Big G.
Need your expertise on the cricket one as well. You got my PM? I also sent it to Tino, Jules, LiW, Super and 15 others.
Even sent it to the deceased Dolphin and Gooseberry... and kingraf (whom I believe is doing well in Gladstone... orange hi-viz stuff)
Rick, are you up for it... or too busy / not interested? Understand it if you're up to your neck in legal files...
https://www.606v2.com/t71241-2023-icc-cricket-world-cup-tipping-competition
I'm quite busy here too (being headhunted on two fronts to help solve the State's housing crisis... but I can chew gum and walk at the same time) plus I've got several local projects on the go. But all of that has to wait its turn.
The tipping competitions are the twin pinnacles of a civilised forum such as this one.

Thanks for the invite, PJ, but I'll sit out the cricket one. Will more than likely drop in from time to time to criticise the predictions that have been made though.

That's a The IKEA now, The Sainsbury's moved to Charlton business park which is usually a good place to see motorists squaring up to each other when they realise there's no hope of ever getting out.

Massive news to report. My son befriended what looked like a man-eating dog in Greenwich Park on Saturday. Got talking to the owner who grew more and more annoyingly familiar until I realised she’s Donna from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. Have to say that she’s a very pleasant person and that I managed to refrain from saying ‘heeeey, aren’t you Donna from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, or asking whether she knows Tino, the notorious Runcorn gold smuggler and wine merchant.

Alright, Galted, no need to boast. I once stood behind one of the Chuckle Brothers in a queue at WHSmith, but you don't hear me bang on about it.

Good effort, Duty, but did you tell the Chuckle Brother an hilarious anecdote about how your friend's staffie got into the neighbours's kitchen and savaged their cat?

Work related issue. I have someone who I am not the line manager for but who is supposed to defer to me in our area of technical expertise. Said person is very stressed for which much should be forgiven but is basically refusing an offer of help and then complaining there is no teamwork. There is more to it of course and I do respect the abilities of said person in lots of areas. Maybe not all.

How warm the weather is for this time of the year is one of the topics of conversation I covered with Donna from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps on Saturday. We agreed that it's very worrying.

To be fair when we lived in Wales getting some sun at about this time of year formally ended the rainy season. The only times when the weather wasn't actually sh!t was October then Spring (April - June time). The rain would start properly in July just in time for the summer holidays and then go on almost non stop until October.

I generally have no recollection of weather at similar times in previous years, I just agree with whoever I'm talking to when they say it's too hot/cold for the time of year. I remember when it got to 100 a couple of decades back but couldn't say what year or month it was.

Was going to say it's not raining here but now it is. You wouldn't know from the reaction of people though, Londoners don't make as big a song and dance about a bit of rain or cold as the citizens of the North.
