The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I answered the questions honestly. What's the point otherwise?

Greybeard -
Munsty - I see what my Mam and Dad did when me and my siblings were growing up. The cooking/cleaning/playing with us/reading to us etc. Everything like that. My parents split everything between them. I don't think one of them had more of a 'homemaker' role than the other. That's why I take issue with the question. If it has said parent, I probably would have strongly agreed. For a mother it's not necessarily the more important because a father could be doing it, but for a parent, yes it is.

But a mother is a parent. What I don't understand is how you see this as a mother being the homemaker instead of the father. But like I said it's all about perspectives.

because the question specifically asked about the mother, Munsty.

Yeah because that is a topic in the news/discussion nowadays. What is interesting is that we both probably believe the same thing yet this statement seems to make it out like we don't.

But if that's the case, two people with the same opinions but different interpretations of the question will end up on opposites ends of the scale. Meaning the whole exercise is flawed.

Of course it is and I said it to Pete but he called me a fence sitter so I bowed down to peer pressure.

Oh no I just realised that I won't see the France v Ireland game this weekend.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Sucks to be you Stag. Good chance the game will end up on youtube or almost definitely on the RTE player.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have Sky+ at home so I can record it (didn't think it was on RTE though).
But I do get to travel up to the Ireland v France and Ireland v England games which will make up for it.
I hate watching games that I know the score of though. Even if Ireland beat France I'll be miffed to have missed it.

No, sadly not. The budget won't stretch to two games plus I work Saturdays so I'm sort of doubling my losses when I take a day off. Which is why I'm so happy the game this weekend is in the evening.
Not that my job generally prevents me from seeing rugby, given it's completely dead most of the time and I have internet access. But I'll be able to go home and watch it on an actual TV with a beverage and my feet up.
So we should start arranging whats going to happen on the weekend of the France match. You guys want to meet up before the France match not after it right? I'll be in Dublin all day. We're staying in my sisters house in Rathgar, which is of course where Mickado lives now. Should we start a facebook event or something for this?

I see myself as a cross between Margaret Thatcher and Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. But only in terms of physical appearance.

I made an event on facebbok and invited a few posters I know who are going to the game or are just Dublin posters. Its not a public event but guests can invite friends, so make sure you invite other people who might be interested because I don't want to leave anyone out.

My memory's a bit hazy on that one, but probably Asbo - I don't have your number saved either.
Edit, actually my memory's a bit Floc'd*. But not as bad as Hughie's.
You missed a great trip though, stand by for photos on Faceache this evening.

Thanks Poisson. That might be a bit too far away for me but hopefully I'll get somewhere. I was out there for the start of the last WC and couldn't find anywhere to watch the matches around La Palud but maybe I'll get somewhere.

Notch and Rodders, do you guys 'like' Ulster Rugby Official' on Facebook? They've just cluttered up my news feed by creating events for all our matches this season.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it clutters it up. I'm glad of it. I always forget what I'm doing and I've made plans and had to cancel them in the past because I've forgotten about a game. Now I won't forget because it will come up on my facebook profile before the event.
Good initiative imo.

That's a pain in the hole! I hate when you "like" a band and your news feed is cluttered up with an invited to every one of their south american tour dates. Psih off U2, i'm not going to Quito Equador to see you play!
I have a wallet sized calendar of Leinster games and i write them on my wall planner in work, handy out!

The “in laws” <ahem> are up from Cork this weekend. Going to take the old man out to see the Ireland v France game, could be interesting. He doesn’t really know anything about rugby, but that’s Cork people for ya.

Rugbys an easy game to figure out in some ways. You mightn't understand the rules but its easy to say who's on top. My girlfriends parents don't speak English but they stumbled across a few rugby games and thought it was very good.

Yeah I do willy. Just looking at the news feed now. Don't really have a problem with it and too be honest it's more interesting than a lot of the garbage on my news feed .

Yeah I agree Notch. It's a good way to keep track of the fixtures. I always try and pin point a few Saturday games I can get to each season so it's pretty useful for me.

I reckon that the X-Men could quell any rioters. I saw them take on a huge big mob in Xmen 3. If they have any trouble Collosseus can call on his brother Jamie "the thug" Cudmore who'll sort them all out

Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry should be allowed involvement in all domestic and international disputes. It's a theory of mine that where they involved in US foreign policy Iraq would have been over twice as fast and Israel and Palestine would have made friends. Throw in Jack Bauer and we have our very own Team America. Flip yea!

Afternoon all: mental day today with one young person losing their job and then safeguarding training! Knackered now. What's this 0.56 authorative shizzle everyone's doing? Can't spot the link when reading back.
Training tonight, got a bit of frustration to let out.

Yea I can imagine. That must be like banging your head on brick wall at times but I'd imagine rewarding too. We could do with more people like you in Limerick.

Also Munsty - yea Cudmore is probably in the thick of it along with Botha and Grewcock
