First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale

I'd recommend going up to Scotland, Prop. I went up with my brothers-in-law a few years ago, we stayed not far from Fort William, went down to Oban, went to Glen Nevis, Glen Coe, Glen Orchy and climbed Ben Nevis. I also had the best curry I've ever had in Fort William.

Morning all

How goes it? Day off for me today after a busy weekend at work. Wife's at work, littlies at nursery and I'm just settling down with a cup of tea and watching the Free State Cheetahs vs. Western Province Currie CUp game from the weekend.

Prop, depends what you are looking for in a weekend away, but there are many lovely places in the Uk. Cotswolds, Lake District and many others. How far are you wanting to go?

The Lake District is fantastic but it might be a bit expensive at this time of year. If I were you, I'd go down south and spend time near the beaches down there.

Devon/Cornwall is great, particularly if the weather is nice. I'm sure if you give Asbo a shout he might know some less touristy but nice and cheap places down in that neck of the woods.

Aye Lucky, I can't describe the feeling of empathy with the ancients you get in driving over the Preseli from Eglwyswrw to Haverfordwest and you see all these massive boulders scattered around the landscape as if God has had a tantrum.

Had a couple of text message/picture from one of the 'Party Goers', in France, but not from a number I have in my mobile phone ‘book’ Headscratch

1st one asked if I recognised the picture. It was Mick’s house

I replied - " Cryhave a great time you bar stewards"

2nd message went like this - “Cheers Pete. You will obviously get your own back in a few weeks. Good draw with England today. Pity you couldn’t quite hold out against Samoa” Laugh

Guess it's ASBO or RAVA Erm

I have fond memories of Mevagissey and Mousehole... it was quite hot when we were there - reminded me of Morocco with all those coloured boats in the harbour. I got so plastered there meeting some locals - and we got locked out from our accommodation in the middle of a violent storm. It was a real thrill for me. Highly recommended. thumbsup

Hello peeps. Day off for me today as well.

prop - Cornish Pirates play in Penzance; that's a long way down. Mennaye Field (their ground) looks to be in a lovely setting though, when I've seen it on tv. Getting accomodation may be tricky at this time of year.

If you do head down that way then try to stop off here en route...

http://www.google.co.uk/m/search?q=ship+inn+porlock&mshr=30&msbs=1&mscq=&mscm=&popt=1&pbx=1&aq=&oq=ship+inn+porlock&aqi=&fkt=1720&fsdt=15970&cqt=14742&rst=6076&htf=&his=&maction=&csll=&action=

One of the loveliest pubs I've been to. Great beer and food and does accomodation. Great base for exploring Exmoor too.

Kado, the Dubs are doing good. Did you catch Cork V Limerick last Wednesday? What a match. Aidan Walsh(Cork's all star midfielder and current young footballer of the year) got 8 points and we still lost. One of the few good games in what I think has been a boring year for hurling.

City Road area Penfro.

Thom - I reckon the Dubs hurlers will go all out to win. They've done really well to get this far, and have nothing to lose. I don't think they'll make it easy for Tipp.

Dublin haven't a hope of winning, they're not good enough. Tipp are so far ahead of everyone it's ridiculous. KK ccould have been beaten yesterday, Waterford had them for the taking.

Didn't see it but listened to the end on the radio. Sounded like one of the best games in years. Over 50 scores wasn't there?

It is indeed a great ground. Went there when Wakefield played them a few years back. Plymouth, as all towns is "interesting" at night time. Got the train direct from Wakefield which is a long journey

As kids, we used to go to stay in Perranporth which has a great beach. Used to go to Newquay during the evening. St Ives is great and not as busy with students on the lash as Newquay is. Been all over Cornwall, must get there again sometime, last time was for the eclipse.

Wouldn't go that far but he was very good. Bear in mind that I've seen a lot of good LOI players Wink Another player to look our for is Robbie Brady. At United on loan at Hull,he is 19.
