The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I haven't tried it, Penfro. It could make some threads confusing - people would be replying to posts you haven't seen!

I have.
And it does get confusing, because people can still quote your foe, so you end up seeing what they say most of the time anyway.

There are a couple of posters I don't like, but I want to know what they're saying. I like being annoyed.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Is that foe thing really necessary? Surely people can just be mature enough to ignore posters they don't like or debate a post they don't agree with?
The whole friend/ foe thing just creates a hierarchy of posters, where certain people will be frozen out and turns the place into a social networking site rather than a sports forum.

Cari has as she has me as a foe. I know one of the admininistrators did/does not want it to be available because it will make some threads not make sense.
Sorry to see Rava go and I understand his reasons, I hope he rang 30 mins before he was going.

In an ideal world, yes - and then we wouldn't need moderators either.
More often, posters assume the worst possible interpretation of a post written by someone they don't like and react to that, and give more latitude to those that they do like.

There has been some sniping going on in here lately which has kind of annoyed me,I have been at the heart of some of it so apolgies. The argument this morning was ridiculous to be honest,it was something out of nothing and I hope nobody was annoyed about it.

I think people should give everyone a bit of latitude and take each post on it's own merit. I don't like the idea that people are blacklisted forever because they posted something on a particular topic....(otherwise I'm fecked ).
Sometimes people say things and regret it after, surely everone is entitled to the oportunity of redemption?
If people start blocking each other and only read posts from people they "like" surely that just defeats the purpose of a public forum?

It's a common feature in pretty much every forum. It doesn't work for me. I'm always just clicking on display this post. I can see how it would be useful if you have posters that follow you around from topic to topic and harass you.

Flipping Hook at 15 mun. Not a bad side otherwise. Delighted Toby gets to make amends for last week. Hope Turftoe Charteris and Lloyd Burns (becoming my favourtie Dragons because of his story) go well, as well as Danny obviously.

I have always thought Wales have looked better with a Hook/Priestland figure at 10 as opposed to Jones and Biggar to a lesser extent.

I'm guessing from what somebody wrote earlier, that maybe somebody is using it on another poster in here. Probably got the wrong end of the stick though.
Rava, I'm sorry you feel you have to go. I don't have anybody else to join me in my ignored corner now . I agree that you will be missed in here though.

Hey,Rev. I watched the league last weekend and I have a few things to say. That guy Tomkins wasn't as electric in attack as he was in the previous weeks but he still got a try. His defence and fielding of the ball was superb. Charnley was good aswell. Heartbreaking defeat for Castleford too.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Disappointed to see that Rava has decided to go. I don't see why he should being as he is/was one of the regulars. I can see where he's coming from. The trouble with 606v2 is yes the pub is more prominent and secondly, those that were once banned from the BBC are given free reign on these boards.
However, I'm not quitting - why should I because of one or two d!ckheads and given that I made so much effort with this pub thingy it's not fair that I should. I haven't posted as much as usual between one thing and another, but I do read a bit when I can and will join in the debate as and when.
I hope that no one else is going to follow Rava and give up. Like Munsty said this pub is what we make it.

I saw it in patches. Tomkins is pretty marked out of games though Thom and obviously people try to niggle with him after he's tackled. He is so sharp though at fullback. Charnley is quality. Considering he doesn't look the most orthadox of wingers as such, his pace surprises me a bit and he certainly knows his way to the line.
Yeah Cas were very unlucky I gather.

Thom - yeah we're fine Who else could I gas about Cadogan with?
Notch - I'm not quitting at all. Like I said, I don't see why I should. If I do make a post and someone takes offence then it's up to them to tell me. I'm not psychic. And I WILL comment on Tommy Bowe when Blondie gets out of his spot and lets him play
Work is a bit odd at the moment. Next week I'm officially made surplus to requirements and go on our Redeployment Register, then wait for a job offer from elsewhere....I've no idea what I'll be doing in the interim (feck all probably) or where I'll end up. This week I'm on secondment in another department to see what it's like, but there's no guarantee I'll end up there.

You say whatever you like about Tommy Bowe. In the meantime, Andrew Trimble made the '20 sexiest male celebs in NI' list apparently.

I imagine they were struggling to make up the numbers alright. To find 20 celebrities even, never mind sexy ones.

Well I just had a look at that list and like the Welsh equivalent, it's full of tenuously linked men that I've never heard of with exception of one or two. if they ever needed a consultant to compile these lists, I'd be happy to help...

What's the deal with this foe list anyway. Can you see anything somebody who has blocked you has posted?
I had a scare with my car earlier. My mate thought it had been scraped, but luckily it's just the biggest bit of bird Poopie I've ever seen. Shame Top Gear's done for another series, or I could've made Clarkson's day with it.

CARI _ you stay right where you are girl. You are the "Founding Daughter" of the pub, along with the Auld Goat (Founding Great Grandfather ) I agree, part of 'trouble' with 606v2 is the pub is more prominent, it used to be our little refuge.
Don't suppose there's any chance we can make it a 'Teflon' instead of a 'Sticky' ?

Perhaps if one of the Admins "unstick" it that would be better, because it would be less noticeable, it'll just drop down the page from time to time, although it does stay top of the list as people comment on it.
