The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I'm with Notch on this. Tone is very important and that is where that comment differs to what Cari normally writes.
Anyway, I've given him his outlet if he wishes to talk about it more.

I have been annoyed by some of what Cari and others have said but I don't bring it up, seems abit like double standards to me.

A couple of players need very big games on Saturday for us to win this one I'd say.

Hughie - I think if you read through the last few pubs I hardly comment at all these days. It doesn't bother me personally what nottins writes cause I don't see his posts anymore.
Thom - I'm sorry you've been offended by comments I've made.but if you ask me not to then I won't.

Sorry, but don't come over with that condescending attitude. You didn't write that post as a moderator, so don't presume to tell me where to post. Does anyone direct you to the various other forums when you don't talk about rugby in here ?
I also notice that you didn't direct Luckless to the cricket boards when he mentioned Geoff Boycott.

Cari, not attacking you in the slightest, just looking for balance and granted I know nottins can end up making a row out of nothing I was just hoping to avoid it

I never said it was fair. It's just my own opinion and that is how I see it. I posted as another poster. I realise now I shouldn't have done so and should have just glossed over it.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
This will be my last ever post in this Pub.
Since the move from the BBC forum the overall theme in the pub has changed from one of general rugby chat interspersed with some interesting conversations and a bit of light-hearted banter. Overall the pub regulars seemed to get on very well and I think this was evident when we (most of us) met up in Cardiff.
Lately there has been too much niggle going on. People picking up on a "tone" in a written post?? And generally a lack of good rugby debate. There are too many Moderators/Administrators who are now "regs" and I can only see disaster ahead. It is not for me to make personal judgements but I would say to the Mods in here - be very careful and ensure you are always impartial. I haven't been posting a lot over the past while but I have been reading a lot and really don't like where this place is heading.
I have made a lot of very good friends from my time on BBC and in here. Some of you will be friends for life and will go beyond rugby chat. I would hate to get involved in debates that might jepordise any of these friendships.
I will keep in touch via facebook and personal messaging and if any of you want to contact me please use these means.
Please, please be careful where you are heading with this forum.
to you all.

Personally I feel there was more niggle on the old forums. Like, a lot more. I feel like this has been much calmer and more chilled out. Less fights.
I'm sorry to hear you feel that way Rav.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Wow sorry to hear that Rava! Gees is there anything in particular? Surely the rugby debate will pick up when the season starts?
I didn't use the pub on the old forum but I think the general atmosphere on the boards is much better than 606 which got pretty nasty and immature at times.
At least you can interact with the mods here and get a bit of warning before they start deleting posts.
Best of luck Rava

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's a shame but I saw it coming to be fair. I think something that is a big problem is that the pubs aren't hidden away like they used to be. That's what made them so much more comfy.
If we want to make them as good it is up to us though, not go away and give out about it just before we leave.
As for there being too many moderators, that's a problem only for people that see us as that. Hobo said that we are posters first and moderators second but I think people find that hard to make the distinction. I am doing this to help out as we have been provided a wonderful service and it's a good way to give back.
But anyway, Rav, I know this won't be the last time I talk to you and hopefully I can buy you another pint sometime soon.

To talk about rugby for a while if no one minds, I really don't understand Warren Gatland's thinking sometimes. Toby Faletau's starting at number eight on Saturday but Ryan Jones is injured. The logical thing to do would be to have Gareth Delve on the bench, but no - he's been released to play for the Rebels against Bath, leaving us with no genuine number eight cover.

Sorry to see you go rava, hopefully we will meet at some point when Glaws embarrass Ulster I do think we need to be careful, I know I haven't been in the pub long but it does seem to have more 'disagreements' in my eyes than before.
Lucky: I'm gutted because they way Delve's been playing and the experience of the conditions would be a massive boost for Wales. I really can't see Gats staying after the w.c
