First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Pocock photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Newport's like that. But that just comes with being one of the great cities of the world.

People from Cardiff are jealous of Newport's verve and optimism.

Lucky - erm think it's been about 2 weeks now, although I haven't tried to get on here at work for that long either. Don't want to risk it in case they are monitoring me or something. Plus I'm getting so much more work done, and with re-structuring coming up, I'm keeping my head down and just getting on with work.

Heya Gibbo, yeah things are alright with me. Really pleased to be back at Y Parc yesterday despite the rain! Happy with the win, although not the 1st half performance, that was awful. Think we're going to sturggle away from home big time until we get our internationals back for sure. How're you? guinness

Oh Jebus sorry Puma, I meant to send you some links. Soorrry pal.

Have to say, that looks a wee bit sexy. Touchscreen and all. 1.8 Dual Core is grand. Not a super fast PC, but more than enough for your needs. And it has some nice features. All-in-one. Prefer to go for separates myself. I like the ease of upgrading them. I'm wary of all-in-ones, but I'm old fashioned. It looks great for the price too. Read some online reviews of it 1st though. Ya never know...

Im grand pal. Had a nice BBQ down the Cricket Club on Sat. The Sun shone and we had Carribean music eats and drinks (lots of Rum). Took me 3 hours(only takes 30 mins) to get home by bike. Was so pished, it was a massive Thunder & Lightening storm blowing by then and I kept stopping off at bars on the way home. I enjoyed myself immensely. zen

It's not my new place MrsP. I wish it was, cause I know a few people there and it was a good laugh. I'm only there this week (well off for the RWC on Friday).

Blimminheck, Cari, it's only Monday - we haven't had time to miss you yet! How was the new office? Are you going to get a 'hands-on' at the office in Newport before the 19th?

Gibbo, no worries, my friend, you have other things to do - and the things you've been doing sound like a lot more fun than trawling the internet on my behalf! Partial to a drop of ron de Habana myself. In fact, there's a bottle in the cupboard at this very moment .....

Hiya Cari Smile

Fair play to Dai Young, the news from the Wasps' camp is that he's got the squad spirit back and is working well with Paul Turner thumbsup That spirit has been missing since we sacked McGeechan with less than good grace in 2008.

Do the bosses have a rationale for sending you to offices that will not have any openings?

It seems a bit of a shame for you to like a place if it would not be possible to move there.

It must be nice getting to see around a bit though quite stressful getting to know lots of new people.

I'm quite into them.

Closer to the Edge was one of my songs from Afghan. This is War was on a Dragons compilation video on YouTube. I have a few more like From Yesterday on my gym playlist too. Pretty upbeat at least.

I asked a question earlier on one of the threads regarding the Haka but got no answer.
As we all know teams have been asked by the IRB to respect the Haka by staying a certain distance away from the side performing the ritual and thats fair enough.
I'm interested in knowing if the IRB would penalise a side for simply going to the other side of the field to continue with their warm-up?

That link is for This Is War. Another good one is Kings and Queens.

Cymro,

I have no idea. I think they might send some kind of letter or something. I don't like this imposed distance they've brought in though. Some of the great moment are when the players are face to face.

Back again after charging the phone up.

dreamer, I was impressed with some of our newbies. Poff (basically McCaw's understudy at the 'Saders) is the pick of the bunch. Robinson is going great guns, and Chris Bell is showing what he can do when he gets the ball. At Sale Hodgson used to kick a lot of ball away. Wentzel has also been good and adds massively to what has been a poor line out for many years.

Good win for your guys yesterday thumbsup

kiwi - check out the interview with McCaw in the Sunday Telegraph if you can get it on line. T'was a good read; plus David Kirk's thoughts on some of the teams taking part. Oddly he wasn't asked for an opinion on Aus.

Always open to suggestions to who people want.
