Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current props' pictures on the bar. We've got Castrogiovanni, Hika Reid, The Beast, Colin Windon, the Franks brothers, Mas, Tonga'uiha, Roncero, Cian Healey (as demanded by Hughie), Stevens, Murray, Mike Ross, Adam Jones and Steenkamp all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

This is awful stuff there. Knock-ons all over the shop. Very little composure on the ball.
Why would we want to kick down the throat of Chavanga of all people? Come on Ulster...

Ah yes! I found that. I was going to send you it, but I thought I would go and dig into my collection of programmes from Ulster games and send a few of the Ulster vs Scarlets ones.

This is a ludicrously poor game so far!
High penalty count, high error count. Unimpressive Ulster.

The Jeff has a guest referee arrangement, and we can have French, and SH refs now and again. I'm all for that - all parties learn something about each other.
Enjoy the game folks.

And now a man in the bin. What a nightmare of a game for Ulster so far! Clumsy and careless from Spence, can hardly complain.

He is a little boy Glas, I mean he's so talented but anything he shows is a bonus. He's about a year out of school, playing outside one of the less capable 9s in the league and inside another young player. It's all experience in the bank.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He's a sort of 'Welsh style' 10, isn't he?
He needs gametime and he's getting it. But while our kids are out learning the game is getting away. We need to get something before halftime but we're playing very poorly. Not optimistic at this stage.

I don't know Notch, I think the Dragons are more than capable of throwing this away. Tovey is class, in the Paul Turner mould, very good, but not quite good enough.

He's controlling things quite nicely. Few iffy passes that Ash Smith won't have appreciated.
Attendance isn't too bad in the end for what the game is (absentees etc). Certainly pleased enough with this lead at HT.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Well Glas... we lack intensity, we lack physicality, we're making poor decisions and unforced errors, we're playing as individuals and our tight five seem to be here as spectators. But apart from that man, we are right in this game!
Ah well. Being a rugby fan isn't always about winning and all the glory... sometimes your team just plays poorly and you have to take your medicine. So I'll sit here with all my Welsh friends and take my medicine whilst Ulster try and figure out what we are meant to with the ball and how to get it.
Here's to the second-half comeback

Notch you forgot 'couldn't score in a brothel'. Any pro 12 side should score from such a clean break.

Hey Notch, I'm reading in the farming press that Rhianna was filming in a field in Ulster in her bikini and the farmer told her to get her kit on! He was a DUP Alderman apparently.

To be fair to the farmer, I think that was a bit of a provocative stunt by the video producers - the guy has a bible quote painted in big letters on the side of a nearby barn...surely that would've told them something about the land owner...?
HT 17 - 10 to Ospreys.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, it was slightly crass. Funny because I've never heard of the management of an international pop star be in any way crass before
They contacted him to hire his field, didn't tell him what they were using it for; he politely objected and they agreeably desisted. Bit of a non-story. They get lots of shots of Rihanna in her controversially and agreeably sparse outfit in the local press ahead of her big gig in Belfast and he gets the chance to pontificate in the very same press. Everybody wins, but it's a bit of a non-story.

She has to get her kit off cause her voice is absolutely grating. Whoever said she could sing must've been hard of hearing or thinking with his d*ck at the time. I wish she'd spell her name properly as well - it's a Welsh name - Rhianydd.

Only another woman could get away with saying that. Brilliant. All true.
Watching Dragons v Ulster. Looks scrappy. Just tuned in to Scrum 5. Lots of young lads out there. Thinking long-term... this is fantastic experience for them all.
Shheet. Hope Tovey is ok.
Ah good - he's grand. The belt of a wet sponge works wonders.
Evenin all.

I'm multi tasking - got the dragons game on the telly and the O's game on the net via Galway Radio...although their idea of half time is going on for quite some time so they can chat about the local hurling....

I think that's what we've got to do I mean- such a young side. So many guys between 20-22. First half was utterly diabolical from us. Now we're playing a little better but it just doesn't feel like our night.
