The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of the captains of the World Cup Quarter Finalists pictures on the bar. We've got Sam Warburton, Brian O'Driscoll, Lewis Moody, Thierry Dusautoir, John Smit, James Horwill, Felipe Contepomi and Richie McCaw.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

MrsP,
I think I'd tend to agree when I think about it. Probably something to do with the milk used.

Well I was only joking in a "how could anything from the Eire be better than in the North" kind of way!
Seriously though, I would have thought that our shops would be more likely to have Cadbury products manufactured in Tallaght than Birminhgham?
Maybe inport/export stuff over rides the transport costs?
I have to say I've never noticed a difference.
Rava, are you talking about during rationing or something?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It’s entirely possible that there’s a different recipe used. There’s a cadbury’s factory in Dublin which makes stuff for Ireland only I think.
My cousin works there, it’s funny to hear her gossip about the place “JEYSUS Mikey, that place is a nightmare at the moment, Joan on the flakes had a right go a Bernie on the caramels the other day!”
Rav, nordie Tayto are quality alright.

Afternoon all.
Cadbury tailors it's recipes to markets - NZ Cadbury (before they closed the factory and began importing from Australia ) used to taste more like UK Galaxy than UK Cadbury.

Ah no I didn’t think he was another reg (or a girl). I just thought he might have been a friend of a friend or something. there were so many people there, some I had met before some I had never met, some I didn’t know what they looked like etc. I was just a bit overawed!

Don't Northern Ireland have a crisp brand called Tayto that's completely unrelated to the republic of Ireland Tayto brand? I think I heard that once. Can any Ulster fella's enlighten me?

Ah Cari. This is nothing.
Not many people realise that what came to be known as "The Troubles" actually started as the great Tatyo Wars.
Why do you think the Famine has such a part to play in Irish History. The real problem was the Potato Blight interferred with the production of crisps!

And the green ones are cabbages. The flag was a combination of the carrot and cabbage with a white parsnip of peace between them. History eh, great stuff...

Not a lot of people know this, but when the forty days and forty nights of rain were over, Noah sent out a parsnip to see if there was any dry land. It just floated off, and he felt like a bit of an idiot, so he asked Moses to leave that bit out of the story.

Is that what they taught you Bikkies???
Honestly, the version of Irish history they teach in your schools is so distorted sure you'd hardly find a bit of truth in it!
Cari!
What on earth has Gavin Henson got to do with Irish History?

Anyone noticed the difference between wrappers in Cadbury's milk chocolate in Ireland and the UK? In Ireland, we have the one with the golden tin foil wrapped with the purple paper yet they don't have that here.

A sad loss for someone so inovative and at just 56 but I can't understand this outpouring of grief from the worldwide public? Iphone vigils, flowers left outside apple stores etc. Are ppl so consumed by their love of his gadgets they feel a connection with him? Wierd

It's an unfortunate aspect of the cult of personality that has grown up around technology as a whole, of which Apple has been a major contributor. They've done it stylishly, but almost to the point where the death of their CEO will be overshadowed by the burning desire for people to be the first blog about it, or come up with an innovative way to mark the moment.
I couldn't call Jobs a 'great man' but he was certainly very good at what he did and will be missed, he saved Apple from dying out as a brand and was a very good busisnessman.

Treason Munsty.
So we have Mickado as the doctor, I'm still looking for ideas this year. Went out as a Chilean last year which went down well. Contemplating going as an all black this year. Dying the hair black and everything. Sherlock Holmes has potential as well, as that's starting up soon on the beeb, but I prefer going as something current and 'in'.
