The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of the captains of the World Cup Quarter Finalists pictures on the bar. We've got Sam Warburton, Brian O'Driscoll, Lewis Moody, Thierry Dusautoir, John Smit, James Horwill, Felipe Contepomi and Richie McCaw.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Just love Walkers. Think they taste much nicer, especially the ones here in England.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Have been giving some serious thought to this while in work today, When looking at the Ireland v Wales game I think a massive factor that will decide this game will be the sheer belief of the Irish team that they are here to do the business. I remember watching the 6 nations this year and an Interview with Heaslip in it. In this interview he mentioned that during pre season Deccie called all the players together and said "The only reason we are here thus year is to win the WC, anyone who doesn't think we can, there's the door". These lads have such a massive will to win this and it will carry them through I'm sure. Whereas Wales, well they seem content with the quarters.
Ireland to win by twelve

The more you say it Hughie, isn't going to make it more likely to happen
And evening all, I am blydi tired today. Had my 2nd Welsh class of the week and I confess it's starting to hurt my brain. Really enjoying it though, feels nice to actually be learning things again

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Evening all
Bloody knackered from 6-a-side earlier. I say 6, we had to play with 5 as one didn't turn up, and were giving our opponents on average about 15 years per man, but we won, so it's all good.
And something else that is all good, my laptop is fixed
Now all I need is for England to smash the Frenchies, and the world will be at peace!

Alright lads. Gibbo you bet..the missus caught me on the interweb the other night looking at those dodgy websites...i must admit i have been getting hooked on them over the last few weeks. I thought she would be really angry... But she would like to join in and is as excited as i am about it. We have even met some like minded people, couples, singles, male female, young old. Its a relief...so we are thinking of going further with it...so

Good man Pete. Well done bullying the youngfellas into defeat.
Howya Hugs & Chef.
I'm watching the SLAM game again for inspiration. Christ we have such a different side now. Hayes, Horan, O Leary - all gone now. TF. SOB for Wally. Healy, Ross & Murray in.
Its HT. Don't tell me what happens...

Ha! Good move pal. Ah Stag says he is really a mellow guy. One moment of madness shouldn't take that away. He will be on Tour with us. Brent Pope too. I'd feicin love to go with Georgie Hook... if only for the laugh factor.
Yeah, we need to set up a Lions Tour Account. Maybe Stag can do it for us via the Travel Agency.

Just been reading the NZ team for Sunday. They are missing about four first choice players but are still able to field an awesome side. Imagine having guys the calibre of Mils and SBW as replacements!

Even without DC and SBW out of position on the wing, they have far to much for Argentina and will win that game at a canter.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They have some quality squad depth all right. Maybe we are making too much of a deal about Carter being out. McCaw is playing through the pain in his foot. If he goes then the balance will shift. Be like us losing BOD.
Don't want to think about that. But I'd move Bowe inside and bring Trimble on to the wing. I reckon thats a good one for the 6-N.

Lions tour 2013 is going to be awesome. A childhood friend of mine recently emigrated to Oz and me and some mates are looking to 2013 to go out and visit her. Kill 2 birds with one stone as it where.
On a similar note isn't BOD contracted (IRFU) till 2013? Brian's last hurrah?

Cant see him making the Lions Willy. His body is battered cos he's a looney for the cause. Some of the tackles he makes... An average 13 just won't get involved like he does. We will dip when he goes...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Willie being contracted won't guarantee a place on the team. If you don't believe me ask Paddy Wallace.
Gibbo I would love to have Trimble on the team but I believe Bowe is more effective on the wing. If you are looking for a ready made replacement then Cave has to be in the frame. I would love to see him get an opportunity.

Well Kidney is not afraid (anymore) to blood and trust talented youf. Something I wanted for years. He must have listened or read the Pub 2 years back.
Is it wrong for me to have the hots for Kirsty Wark?
If it is - even better.

Do you think Kidney might consider going after the WC?
Would he see getting to QF and maybe farther as being the pinnacle or just the start?

Provided England reach the WC final which I personally think they will, I see the Lions team having MJ written all over it. DK should still be onboard though. Along with Sir Ian.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
You know, there is so much more riding on the NH side of the RWC draw. A massive amount of kudos to be earned. Specially for the Lions.
Not to mention our respective Home-countries benefit. Everyone will want to play. Its becoming more sexy than soccer. Ive noticed people who were never interested before, coming up to me over here and asking questions because I wear rugby badges on my jacket. And my car is Blue and covered in Leinster stuff.
My Dutch Doctor.. said to me the other day. "So, are Ireland going to beat Wales? What do you think of Carter's injury? yada yada yada " All in Dutch. I near keeled over.
Both my lads too. Getting up at all hours to watch it. Had NO interest in rugby a year ago. Its growing.
