The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the team photos of the World Cup finalists. Or the action shots (put up especially for Cari) of McCaw, Kahui and Corey Jane.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I wouldn't mind if it were the first time but this is becoming a most unwelcome habit. Maybe I'm maturing. . . . . or you're going senile!!

In some languages Senile and Irish are the same word!!!
Actually not really though Irre is the German word for crazy and Ire is the word for an Irishman.
Coincidence? I think not.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
And the Irish name for Wales is Little Britain.
And a coloful look at Irish and Welsh. The Irish word Glas means Green. The Welsh word Glas means Blue. In Irish, Gorm is Blue. In Irish if there is a black skinned person you call him a Blue person. In Welsh if you see a really green field you say it is blue.
Does this mean that Blue and Green and Black are all the same colour

Asbo - that it does. Count me in for the Exeter match on the Sunday as well then. (that is if there's room to house all of us??)
Gibbo - I can't see the event on FB? Or are you still carefully crafting it?

Evening all. Got 200 pages left of Wuthering Heights and need to have it done by tomorrow. No worries. Loads of paragraphs that don't need to be read.
Stag,
Just on the conversation that we were on earlier, Ireland will come out of this but I really hope that we give up the designs of being like other nations and stick to what makes us Irish.

Well said. No need to copy the USA, Europe or Britain. Our Nation still has to find it's own soul and place in this World- and go with it. We are a baby nation still - in the modern World really. Need to make all our own mistakes, watch others feic up/make ground and learn from it. Grow on our own terms. And we will be so much stronger for it in the long-term.
Believe.

First thing that must be done is lower the minimum wage and make it so that working in a manual labour job and not going to university isn't something to be embarrassed of.

At the end of this journo's feature piece is a nice bit about last Saturday's match - esp. if you know Llanelli.

this I love! If I wasn't so worried about the tan washing off before I go to watch Scarlets v Ulster the next day, I'd so do it.
And cheers for the other ideas guys

Evening all
Played 6 a side football tonight, thought I would blow off some steam. Wish I hadn't, we were 10-0 down after 18 minutes and lost 27-8. Worst performance I've had on a football pitch since I was a kid.
On a more positive note, I have tomorrow off work, the wife is doing the school run and then going for a girly coffee morning at her friends house, so it's rugby and full English breakfast for me in the morning.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ah nice one Pete (not the footy!).
Can't beat the rugby and a fry up
For some reason I thought it kicked off at 7:30am and that I'd get to watch the first half, but no, tis 8:30am. Going to have to see if I can retune the radio in the morning so I can listen to it. Might just have to accidently leave the answer machiene on at work...
