The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the team photos of the World Cup finalists. Or the action shots (put up especially for Cari) of McCaw, Kahui and Corey Jane.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Apparently they sent secret agent O'Brien to deal with it a week previously but they had to send in someone who could actually get the job done hence Warbs
And apparently Warburton has been red carded and sent from Libya following Gaddafi's death due to injuries sustained in a spear tackle when he was captured
The Libyan people are united in outrage at the referee's decision.

Maybe O’Brien’s Heineken cup winners medalS were weighing him down.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon all, just been reading back about the travel plans etc for the December weekend.
I will be getting the train down for Scarlets v Munster and then getting the train back to the Diff and staying there the Sat night most probs (not sure if that gig thing is going ahead). Then I will deffo be getting the train up to Bath on the Sunday but I'm not sure about then travelling down to Exeter - how would we be doing that? train again? I'll have to see if I can get the Monday off work, so mayhaps tentatively pencil me in for that one.
If anyone needs to somewhere to say in Cardiff on the Friday or Saturday (if I'm there), they are more than welcome to stay at mine

Scarlets tickets won't be a problem.
I have five, but one needs to be under 16. Who could get away with looking that young...
Haven't read anymore after this - would I qualify as a student Glas?

FFS how come the 3rd place play off is on tomorrow instead of Saturday!

Probably Gavin Thomas at Toulouse. I don't think Wyatt ever won any at Munster.

I booked 2 hours toil in advance although it looks like I may have to be in Canton for 10.40 so there best be no injuries or stoppages of play!!

I'll be in work, probably the only one in the office as usual, and I expect to spend most of the match frustrated in the extreme that ITV's website keeps freezing.

I wonder why they didn't schedule it for the Saturday? Is it in the same venue? If it is I guess they're making preparations for the final ceremony or something.

I've tipped the Wallabies to win tomorrow on SG. I've also tipped France to sneak a win in the final.

I've picked Oz and NZ to win. I want to see SG out on a high as I managed to reach the dizzying heights of 10th.

I'm only doing good on SG on the permiership in football and the Jeff in the rugby - the two things I don't watch! I think emotion affects me too much when making decisions for the Pro12 and RWC .

I'm not on SG. I don't like the idea of picking against my team and then being torn between wanting to do well on SG and wanting my team to win. I could just pick Leinster to win every week, but at the rate we're going I'd be at the bottom of the league!

I only do the internationals - and then with me it's like pinning the tail on the donkey. Just shove any score up and hope it's accurate. I gave up following my heart/head cause I was always way off.

greybeard - aye that's my downfall, I can't pick against the Scarlets - hence why I'm not doing very well in the Pro12
ah I can't wait for the end of the day. I was all chirpy this morning, feeling really now.

Honestly, I picked Leinster ever week (and will continue to do so ad infinitum) and I’m 10th (out of 50 odd) but I was up to 6th at one stage. We’ve only lost 2 games this year like!

I see no reason why we won't win the HC this year, and for the next 6 years in a row. We might struggle once Conway retires but i've an 8 year old god son who'll be a whizz on the wing when the time comes. Sorted.

Might be something in that. I'm in the top 10% globally in the Aviva, the Pro 12, the soccer and way down in the RWC ...

Prop, I think you won't have time to platy rugby. Sure you will be running the country
Kiwi, I noticed you picked up some serious points at the weekend in the Premiership. Just confirmed you don't have to know anything about soccer............ . Seriously though good start for you this year.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hi all. In answer to the question about who was the last Welsh player to win a HC medal, it would have been Gareth Thomas with Toulouse in 2005.
Talking of Bath’s only HC win in 1998 (v Brive) if someone can search for a video of Dan Lyle’s tackle from a restart on a Brive front row forward, you will see one helluva hit. The ball goes up, the Brive prop catches it, then there is just a blur of blue and the frenchman is obliterated.
My favourite tackle ever
Laters peeps.

Exactly.
I've won a fair amount of money in football comps over the past few years, purely by tipping the bookies' favourites.
If I think I know something myself OTOH

Thanks for doing that Gibbo. Are most people thinking of going down to Exeter on the Sat night, or would it just be easier to travel down there on the Sunday? (depending on what people's plans are for the Sat of course)

Thanks for doing the event on FaceAche, Gib, don't know what's gotten into that lazy get, Hoog!
Maybe it'll be easier if I lay out my plans for the European triple weekend - I'll be in Devon Fri, Sat & Sun evenings, and can accommodate anyone else that would like (just let me know) on any combination of those 3 nights. Happy to collect folk from airport or train station as they arrive on Fri afternoon/evening.
SAT [Scarlets vs Munster]
If there's more than a car load going up to Llanelli from Devon, then we'll likely train up, train back across to Cardiff for 's gig, and minibus back (on standby) to Devon; if there's just a car load, then I'll drive to Wales and back.
SUN [Barf vs Leinster, & Exeter vs N-G Dragons]
Train on Sunday morning up to Barf; minibus (organised) down to Exe (no convenient trains); & minibus back from Exe to mine (also organised). On Monday morning, I can drop folks at Exe airport or at Tiverton Parkway station
Hope that helps people make up their minds
