First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the life size photo of Thierry Dusautoir.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Lucky - sadly they can't recruit externally hence they're desperate. This is in the same place but another department. Oh well I know I'll end up somewhere.....but where...? Very Happy

Some good news for Hughie here, the OLSC now have an official London base, so if you're finding it hard to find a place that's showing Leinster games, you're sorted.

Apparently it's so the OP can pick a "best answer" for a question asked and in your profile there's a "reputation" stat which counts your thank yous. I suspect we'll be turning it off to be honest, it's more appropriate for a Q and A type forum.

Is that in the last 2 days? If so, then yes.

When mine was at it's worst I could step on a slightly uneven paving stone and go over.

Prop you need to imobilise that ankle, quick. Maybe crutches would be appropriate.

I see a woman was killed at the O2 in Dublin last night. Apparently she fell from a fairground ride. I am assuming this is the "big wheel" in the grounds and which used to be in Belfast.

You do realise I charge double for "call-outs"?

Rather than go over everything in here Prop have a wee look at this web-site.

http://orthopedics.about.com/lr/ankle_sprain_treatment/102206/3/anklesprain_3/

Has the swelling all gone?

Are you sure those ankle ligamants are just sprained?

Well early mobilisation is definately the way to go with NEW ankle sprains.

Given your history though I'd be happier to know those ligaments are intact.

Did you ever have a really bad sprain? ie really swollen/painful?

Not really, so I've withdrawn from it. Apparently I can do that and it doesn't change my redeployment registration or affect the previous two posts. I remain on redeployment until I'm established in another post...it's bureaucracy gone mad really, but there we are. At least I will have a job and that's the important thing Smile

At the start it was yeah, I'm just looking forward to proper rest for the week now. Also thinking the same as to whether there is further damage to the ligaments....x-rays only show bones don't they?!

Cheers for all the info etc guys!

No Rav, it's not the O2 wheel or whatever it's called. She fell from an amusement ride which was in the fairground on the site of the O2, the wheel wouldn't have even been opened at that stage. Very sad stuff...

I am actually Staggy. Feel a bit left out now, and I'm quite disgusted that our Head of Department hasn't bothered to check up on me. I'll be the only one left once everyone's gone - some have gone already, the last one leaves on the 30th of November - and not once has she contacted me to ask what's happening to me. She asked someone in passing the other day what the score was saying she'd heard "on the grapevine" I had another job. She always was crap with managing people anyway, but considering I'm still being paid out of her budget, you'd think she'd ask.

Yes Lucky. She's a funny one mind. She stood up at our farewell do a few weeks back and rather than thanking staff, wishing them well and the like, she started going on about how all this wasn't her fault and she has to make more cuts next year anyway - in front of London based people who are still in post.

Staggy - yeah it's a huge modern building with lots of glass panelling, slate floors, a restaurant and it's own Starbucks downstairs. It reminded me of the Guinness Storehouse a bit too. Very different from here....this is a grade 2 listed building.
