The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.
Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I don't know about Mrs P but I have no idea why they are called "Kings Lynn" Gonad Protectors. There are, however several other East Anglian towns better suited IMO
"Baldock" Gonad Protectors
"Fackenham" Gonad Protectors
or
"Great and Little Plumstead" Gonad Protectors
to name but three.

so it comes under number 3.
I wouldn't really qualify that as a sport though, but then guess that's just me.
Anyway, sleep time for me, am shattered. Nos da.

Thanks Pete
OK Dreamer?
In any sport don't you play a game? So a game of chess is like a game of rugby or badminton. Therefore it's a sport.

I'd say it qualifies under point 1a as well, as there is nothing to state what the extent of the physical activity must be, and the act of moving the pieces is physical activity, however small that activity may be.

Don't worry, I've come out in sympathy for you. Spent the night in A&E, morphine, X ray and a finger up the bum. They did send me home but with so many pills I'm rattling.

You sound as though you've been through the wars. Is the back pain rugby related? Did you do any singing when the finger was inserted?
moooooon riverrrrrrr Had the same years ago when I had appendicitis.
Hope all is OK, mate.

Yes, back pain. Never thought it would lead to me losing my virginity. No fractures, that's the good news. May need an MRI scan. Got to say these pain killers are good. I know what my clients are on about now with their morphine and their DFs!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, I was on some strong stuff after I broke my leg in three places. I had to take them at 6am, 2pm, 9-10pm... I was always counting down the minutes. That wonderful feeling of the pain diminishing about 15 mins after you take them.
I had 2 or 3 courses - and when I went in for more the Doctor just looked at my glazed eyes and said "I think we ought to stop them now..." and typed something in the computer which is visible to every chemist in Australia.
Bugger!
(However, it's better not to develop a dependency... they are very dangerous drugs if used for an extended period of time)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I know I see the consequences daily. It breaks your heart sometimes. I had a client once, young girl. The first time she came to see me it was for some minor stuff whilst she was a juvenile. She was a stunner. I saw that girl get into more and more Poopie. She lost the flush of youth, her curves and the spark in her eyes whilst still a teenager. I got her off a robbery charge, not that she hadn't done it, she was under the duress of her dealer, and within a month of her release she was dead. 21 years old. Kids get told drugs can kill you. They try it, they don't die, whats the problem? They should get told it doesn't kill straight away. It kills them all in the end though. First it kills their independence, then their personality and eventually them. The answer? Legalise cannabis and tax it, if they can develop a breathalyser for it.

Tragic story Glas. The independence and personality go very quickly and as you say, it could be years of misery and a slow demise... or like that unfortunate girl - it can happen relatively quickly.
Asbo - he should have told the doctor that the Ulster badge arrived in the mail as promised by Notch. No need to look there...

Good stuff. What's the connection... or do you just like their style?
So when they play the Scarlets - you're hoping it's a quality game but Scarlets win by not too much?

They are unique, a regional side which spans two countries. I have to say I was very ignorant before 606 as their history but now I find Ulster rugby fascinating. I also like how touchy and passionate their fans are. When the offer came I thought why the heck not?

Morning Swanny,
I was sorry to hear the news the other day. Main thing is not to worry, keep your chin up, and press on with something new. I'm sure you have oodles of talent for many things... you've just got to be realisitic and narrow things down
