The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Shane Williams above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Bore da pawb. Off to meet a couple we met in NZ (he's a Kiwi, she's American and both work in London) and treat them for the day - lunch, the match and drinkies, to return the hospitality we received of them in New Plymouth

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Morning all,
Just been checking out my family surname. The old Irish version is Ceileachair which means "companionable" and "uxorious". I know the first one does fit in with the males of our family but the second one could not fit any better I don't think.

Nice name munsty... the old Irish one. I've done a bit of research on the family tree too and discovered lots of interesting French surnames going way back.
By the way - what does your MBTGOG moniker mean?
Please excuse me if it's something obvious or sports related...

Maybe 'hundred great kingdoms', lyd?
All I know on my Dad's side they had to truncate the surname in 1848 due to the Hungarian uprising. It had a suffix akin to O'____ (or 'of the fields') which denoted ownership of land. That didn't go down too well with some locals so it was officially changed. I've often thought about reinstating it at the DB&M Registry.

Afternoon. Got my pal coming round to watch the match. Haven't seen him in over a year. Got the last of my Xmas stuff done, and bought myself a tin of sweeties for Xmas - only £3.99. Bargain!

Just settling down to watch Ulster v Scarlets.
Only bought one Christmas present on my outing today, which is pretty damn rubbish of me, but got loads of stuff to start working on the scrapbook we're supposed to be doing for my mam's birthday.
Town is heaving already.
And I don't know what my surname means
