Re: Another Drive4show 'Anything goes' thread
First topic message reminder :
Can't see anything wrong with oil companies. Like every other business they are out to make money, but somehow it is frowned upon to make more than anyone else.
It is not the fault of the oil companies if there is future harm to the environment, as if there wasn't a demand or the product they wouldn't be continuing to invest in finding it. (if there even is an issue with the environment)
Oil companies probably put more money into alternatives than anyone else. Statoil in particular.
As for climate change, there is no doubt it is occurring, however considering the age of the earth is measured in billions of years and we are only able to go back as far as the last ice age (10-15000 years) to measure climate trends. I'm yet to be convinced of man's actual contribution. The number one greenhouse gas is not C02, CH4 or any other by product of our use, but infact naturally occuring water vapour, which our burning of fossil fuels barely make a dent in. Of course it's all about tolerances and thresholds, but with the likes of India, China and America being the worlds biggest polluters, I'm not going to feel guilty about European energy consumption. It seems very convenient that as people are reliant on fossil fuel then it is easy to tax it by both increasing it's price and the guilt associated with using it.
Anyway, all these lentil knitters who go on about the "evil" of oil have never ever given a viable alternative.
Personally I think Nuclear power is the way forward, but the uneducated hippies will never allow it.

mclaren the difference is is quite simple - he has lived in some right horrid places , i have lived in the nicer ones close by! therefore its quite obvious why we have differing outlooks.
I personally dont think that SE london on the whole is a brilliant place to live- however it justifies a purpose at the time(when young and needing to be close to london) and its really no different from other parts of london however others want to suggest otherwise!
Anyway great F1 qualifying- front row locked in again

Really gutted that Kimi had to take the 5 place penalty so hope to see him come back through the field again, this time only from 10th.
Did you notice how keen Hamilton was to emphasise the long run to turn one? I hope he has more confidence than he is showing.

i understand why people have a hate for certain parts of SE london, just not for the whole of it.. I also completly understand why you would never want to go back- there are so many better plavces to live out there and if i could move furthar away i would in a shot

Fair do's. I have had some good nights out in SE London but guess that's not my raison d'être these days and working in Soho tend to go out there or at Clapham Junction which is on my train route home.
I like the seaside !

Clapham is a very decent place to live when you are youngish- however so impractical these days.I still go out around the junction and the common, its a decent night out.

Re: Another Drive4show 'Anything goes' thread
Clapham does have some nice eye candy as does Beckhenham as all the ladies tend to dress themselves up to the nines to give off the impression of high society, a good place to pull or look at what's on the menu in Beckenham is the Bridge Bar.
If you ever go out in Sidcup decide on somewhere else to go! They have some nice indians particularly one at the Oval, or Banditos mexican down the highstreet is superb but for nightlife its dire, plastic red the club there is a hole! Better off heading down to Chiselhurst and going somewhere like the Queens head some very lovely ladies in there.
Have to say I do like Sidcup as an area some lovely houses and great base for commuting problem is too many pepple being stuck up but a serious amount of milfs in that area.
F1:
Hopefully Jensen can get an early pass on Hamilton, think tyre degredation is the biggest factor outside of the weather here, track temperatures getting stupidly hot so need to be bang on tyre strategy this week.

Good result for your team today too. Sessegnon being back was a good boost.
I hope you do finish above them, I would laugh and laugh an laugh if the scousers finished outside the top 10. Mid table obscurity is beckoning large for King Kenny, maybe a P45 too

Yep, happy with that as we looked a very tired team midweek. I used to really like Kenny till this season when he has been a complete whinge monkey. The further down the league they finish the better. Can Livepool really sack him though , probably another move upstairs to save face.

Did anyone think Liverpool were any better than mid table given the signings they made were all mid table players;
Carroll
Henderson (maybe even worse)
Downing
Adam
Mysti
Not sure the f1 will be on again any time soon.

Kenny is a seriously unlikable character, just seems a little vacant upstairs. Although most managers do. Owen Coyle has been spouting seem real nonsense this week.
It is about time football, or at least the management of it had a bit of an intellectual revolution. Just look what a smart guy like Wenger can do for you in the long term

Cannot stand Kenny his constant complaining and let's be honest his management style this time around are both pointless and futile.
F1, seems a good call from Force india to start on wets, have had to go out so if restarted I won't get to see it but have it on Sky +

Speaking of Jocky Wilson [RIP]
I was in the hospitality lounge with my daughter's fella when Swindon played Man City.
There were a few celebrities about and we talked to a few as we mingled.
My guest then nudged me and said. 'I wonder what Jocky Wilson is doing here.'
It was Eddie Large.

I'm looking forward to the Olympics, however I'm getting really tired of every product without any link to sport making a tenuous link to the games. Also I'm finding that tom daley has become incredibly annoying.

The Senna film is on sky alot.
I think it was good- however there was bias shown towards Senna. Prost came over much worse than he was- Senna behaved worse or on a parralel when in the same sort of situations..

Mac, considering you normally go out of your way to get offended on other peoples behalf I'm surprised you post such a link (not that it offends me you understand).
Is it just things that aren't your current glory hunting fancy, like Woods, MacLaren (is that the prams or the F1 team) or Man U that are fair game?

Ever since Diana died, this country has been obsessed with overblown, mawkish expressions of grief etc. Wouldn't be surprised if we need to observe a minute's silence in the future if someone stubs their toe....

Anyone see the guy who has got sent down and lost his place on his uni course in his 3rd year for twittering about Muamba and then making a few racist comments.
I'm all for him being punished somehow but does sending him to prison fit the crime when he has no prior? No logic in it to me other than making an example of him.
Wonder how long the utter evil c word gang member who shot the 5 year old little girl in London "accidently" will get, probably be out in a few years. British justice the best in the world? I don't think so.

2 points I'd like to address:
1. Cannot belive they this week released titanic in 3d. It was bad enough the first time round, let alone a cheesefest in 3d. Though Kate Winsletts funbags in 3d could be a good selling point!
2. I see its reported that 3 of the porn stars that Tiger got it on with are this week releasing a film together based on their experiences with Tiger and his sex obsession. If Haney has call his book the big miss what's this going to be called!
