The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of Maxime Medard* above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t21314-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub
* While the other suggestion of Owens, Thomas and Hughie had merit, I couldn't face having Hughie's mug on the wall

If I found myself in Toulouse with a ticket to a match at the Ernest Wallon, I'd a) consider myself very lucky, and b) need a very good reason not to go to the game.

Half of me is thinking this. Big HEC match could define Munsters season.prop_lyd wrote:How often would you get to go and watch Toulouse live at home?
The other half of me is thinking this. Why fly all the way to Toulouse and not go to the match.
More information required:
Is the match ticket free?
What's the price of pints (a) at the ground and (b) at the pub?
Can you record the Munster match for later viewing? -Edit - too slow typing, Asbo beat me to that one
The cost and beer quality factors do need to be included in consideration
I can see how you roll KRD.

Match ticket is free, no discernible difference in price of booze. I have Sky+ at home so I can record match.
I think I just made up my mind.

ha nice one Lucky! We're already level 2, aiming for level 3 this year.
And bore da/good morning all.
Stag - part of me says for you to really go to the Tolouse game but I know if I was in your position and the Scarlets were the one on tv....I'd be very, very tempted to stay in the pub. Maybe go watch Tolouse and make sure you get good updates on your phone??
Yeah don't rely on that flip wit Glas, who will miss the first 20 minutes and then start sending the texts to some other random name on his phone!

OK . Couldn’t find any links for our Nige’ ‘advising’ the young Scarlets #9 (Think it was Martin Roberts). Basically it went like this. Roberts had been chopsing, trying to point out things to Nige’ .
Nige’ had had enough and said something along the lines of “Look, I will never be a scrum-half, you will never be a referee. Cut it out and let’s get on with the game”

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal can expect to hear from the Ligue Nationale de Rugby's disciplinary officials after making some outrageous statements over the weekend.
Boudjellal was fuming after his side's narrow loss in Clermont on Sunday and vented his frustration with some controversial comments aimed at referee Christophe Berdos.
"I had my first refereeing sodomy in the [2010] semi-final against Clermont. I've just had my second tonight," he told journalists after the 25-19 loss at Stade Marcel Michelin.
"It appeared to hurt the first time but it was just as bad this time. We will review the images not on Youtube but on YouPorn. Clermont are a great team. They did not need it."
So that's what refereeing sodomy is

How French can you get?
I have a new screen. It is this wide |

However, it just highlights the difficulty of trying to do this on a phone when away from the office, and I have to turn my head to look into the corners. The Jury is out

Tragic. Apart from the sadness of a very promising career ending so soon, the thing that really sticks in my throat is the fact that he reckons some players deliberately targeted his damaged eye during his "comeback". That's diabolical, literally.
Good luck to him for his foray into hockey I say, I reached county standard as a youf and loved it, not as much as rugby mind - nothing as much as rugby.
Thanks for that Mick.

It’s bad alright. He was really rated highly here, most of us thought he had a much better chance of making it as a pro than Ian Madigan for example. I remember the Treviso game well and I even posted an article on old 606 welcoming him back. shocking stuff about people targeting him alright, scary to think if they had got him he could be blinded completely.
Personally (and very selfishly) I’d love to see him back playing Gaelic football. Great things could be ahead of him yet.

It's hard to imagine how anyone could even think that low let alone act on it.
Do you think it's feasible for him to crack it at the top level? I would have thought it pretty much impossible with such a restricted depth of vision, he must be a pretty special person to give it a lash after what he's been through.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon all. Busy morning
KK sorry to hear you were back in hospital and glad you are out again and on the mend
I was sent this earlier and thought I should share it with you all -
This farmer has about 200 hens, but no rooster and he wants chicks. So, he goes down the road to the next farmer and asks if he has a rooster. The other farmer says, "Yeah, I've got this great rooster, named Randy; he'll service every chicken you've got. No problem."
Well , Randy the rooster is a lot of money, but the farmer decides he'd be worth it. So , he buys Randy. The farmer takes Randy home and sets him down in the barnyard, giving the rooster a pep talk, " Randy, I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here and you cost me a lot of money and I'll need you to do a good job. So, take your time and have some fun," the farmer said with a chuckle.
Randy seemed to understand, so the farmer points towards the hen house and Randy took off like a shot ~WHAM~ He nails every hen on there THREE or FOUR times and the farmer is just shocked. Randy runs out of the hen house and sees a flock of geese down by the lake ~WHAM~ He gets all the geese. Randy's up in the pigpen. He's in with the cows. Randy is jumping on every animal the farmer owns.
The farmer is distraught, worried that his expensive rooster won't even last the day. Sure enough, the farmer goes to bed and wakes up the next day to find Randy dead as a doorknob in the middle of the yard. Buzzards are circling overhead. The farmer, saddened by the loss of such a colorful animal , shakes his head and says, "Oh, Randy, I told you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, now look what you've done to yourself." Randy opens one eye, nods towards the sky and say's , "Shhh. They're getting closer...."

Love it Rav!
PJ – not sure how far he can go but before I read that article I didn’t know Genaro Gatusso was blind in one eye either. McKinley was a very talented footballer (in the rugby sense of the word) and was part of a GAA team with pedigree at national level (they were all Ireland champs in 2009 and he won lesser medals with them in his time there) so who knows?

PJ – not sure how far he can go but before I read that article I didn’t know Genaro Gatusso was blind in one eye either. McKinley was a very talented footballer (in the rugby sense of the word) and was part of a GAA team with pedigree at national level (they were all Ireland champs in 2009 and he won lesser medals with them in his time there) so who knows?
Dean Shiels who plays for Kilmarnock in the SPL lost the sight of his eye when he was eight and has had a fairly successful career to date (Still only 26)
