The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of Maxime Medard* above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t21314-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub
* While the other suggestion of Owens, Thomas and Hughie had merit, I couldn't face having Hughie's mug on the wall

Steak stew followed by jelly and ice-cream (Miss G is here)
Nice turnaround there Glas! I was begining to worry - I thought only rabbits ate apples for breakfast.

Our ful-back lost sight in his left eye as a result of a collission in the first game of the season. Some vision (he can see blurry shapes but has no depth perception) has come back but the consultant is considering another operation to try to restore it fully. Really hope it works he's a great bloke

PJ – not sure how far he can go but before I read that article I didn’t know Genaro Gatusso was blind in one eye either. McKinley was a very talented footballer (in the rugby sense of the word) and was part of a GAA team with pedigree at national level (they were all Ireland champs in 2009 and he won lesser medals with them in his time there) so who knows?
Dean Shiels who plays for Kilmarnock in the SPL lost the sight of his eye when he was eight and has had a fairly successful career to date (Still only 26)

Well, that's two then that made it. Incredible really when you think about it, is Gatusso the Italian fella who had a row with Joe Jordan last year?
It sounds like there's definite potential for McKinley there, good luck to the man that would be some story.

Afternoon all,
So it turns out that the "rude boys" in junction really don't like it when they jump the barriers and I ask them if their mothers are proud of them.

latest rumours from the Scarlets camp: Rhodri Williams and Gareth Davies are both being assessed for their injuries that they picked up against Glasgow, doubtful to start. Looks like we might have to start with Liam Davies, who has only been with the squad a week. Talk about having a nice first game back

Don't you just love rugby? What a fairytale that could be. Prodigal son returns to provide a virtuoso performance and force his way into the Welsh squad in time for the 6 Nations. The guy is class, it will shine through, and where better than his home region?

Yes but if it rains, we'll get absolutely beaten up. No rain dance from me sorry Glas.
Can you not chop part of the hedge, go watch the rugby, then finish it off later in the day?

Didn't think of that.
Oh well I'll have to rely on text updates then
It's not about the practicality, its about the "principle" Dreamer. I went last Saturday and am off to Dublin soon. One needs to clever.

Puma,
While you are there, would you ask them if our shed and playhouse are covered for storm damage?
Did you ever get the drainage issue sorted or are you still ankle deep in it?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have successfully claimed for the greenhouse Mrs P so you should be able to do the same for shed and playhouse, but check your excess and how much you would lose in no claims bonus (should you have one) if this is not protected. Hint: they are paying out 'no questions asked' for storm damage up to £500, or mine are at any rate. But the drainage - well!!!! I cleared the drain but the laminate floor in the kitchen is warped and needs replaced. They are sending a man to estimate costs, but will knock off £350 from any payout for 'escape pf water'. Grrr. Needed to make two separate claims, answer the same bl**dy questions twice, have £350 deducted, then she asks me' Are you happy with the claims process?' I laughed out loud - seemed a better bet than shouting abuse down the phone.

Few days worth in fact.
It is a comprise though. I keep Mrs G happy for a fortnight and I'm allowed to go to Dublin without major histrionics before or after.

Evening all.
Does anyone else think it's a good sign for the Scarlets on Saturday that for half of my Welsh lesson today we learnt all about Dafydd Iwan, and ended the lesson listening to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WooUv0QttKs
so fired up for the rugby now I can't believe it! Ymlaen!
(and now what's betting I've put the mockers on it!)

ah yeah that should be good, close match that one. So many tough ones to call, going to have trouble picking them on SG.
I have a feeling Leicester are going to sneak that one (sorry Ulster regs!) I couldn't even properly tell you why. Just...have a feeling. It would be a very Leicester thing to do.
