The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of Maxime Medard* above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t21314-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub
* While the other suggestion of Owens, Thomas and Hughie had merit, I couldn't face having Hughie's mug on the wall

I have a feeling Leicester are going to sneak that one (sorry Ulster regs!) I couldn't even properly tell you why. Just...have a feeling. It would be a very Leicester thing to do.
I used to like you

There's lots of SG picks still outstanding. Get 'em in! And for those in the Amlin don't forget the first game of the weekend is Thursday!
Just doing a job application I may need a drink later!
Cari, got your PM. No worries, and thank you. Can't believe it's a whole year since that incredible meeting! There's a memory that I'm guessing still makes you

Rogue Baboon - Not much of a nail-biter TBH 8 minutes into the first half and Fred's dead baby, Fred's dead.
On the upside some more top-teckers in terms of Flamingo plucking on display.
I'm pleased for you too Cari, but I'm not sure why, I just am.
Gotta go.

Evening all - I've just tuned into this baboon thing and it's... okay. Inside Nature's Giants is usually good, but do baboons count as giants?

It's OK but not the best, did you see the Flamingo plucking Lucky? He raced into the water and caught it by the back legs as it was making it's getaway, it then used it like Bez used his marraccas, only it was floppier.
These Baboons are giant teefs, they nick anything that isn't locked down tight. It's back on.

Evening folks,
Been watching a new series on sky one at the minute, its called The Chicago Code, about the police taking on the Irish mob and corrupt politicians. It's on everyday at 2 (i know people have work) but its turning into a cracking series. I highly recommond the series link on sky+ and getting into it, its only a few episodes in and Well worth a watch

I'm going to regulate my diet and start exercising properly for 30 days solid. I'm going to cut down on my booze, get more sleep and put more focus on my well-being, physically, mentally and spiritually.

I admire your efforts sir. Personally I'm going off the booze in January even though technically I entered it it with my blood alcohol level off the scale. Being a student at new years does that to one. 9 days clean now though. Usually very good about staying on the wagon. Fingers crossed.

You shall be my inspiration. Although I don't intend to cut-out alcohol altogether, I am going to restrict my intake to a couple of glasses of red wine a day maximum. With all the other changes I'm going to make, it should be enough to make a difference.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
PJ and Willy, ye guys are my virtual heros.
I'm cutting down from 2 bottles of Haut Medoc of a evening to 1 bottle of 4.99 Merlot. Stark measures, I know. But I feel, that not only will it preserve my liver for another few years, it will also show a willingness to mix with the peasants and share in their destitution, deprivation and financial pain. Contrived empathy feels so good. And it will also save me a few bob into the bargain. Money, which I will invest in decent whiskEy. This wlll serve to divert precious money away from those thieving, controlling French, and put it back into the struggling Irish Economy. Everyone is happier. Especially me. Win-win.
Not being trite and self-righteous here, you understand, but if we all did this and made a sterling effort for the Cause, Ireland and subsequently - Europe, would be better places to live in.
I feel really good about this decision. It was not taken easily and many factors - financial, political and personal, were taken into deep and thoughtful consideration.
I urge all pissheads to reconsider their life-styles and how it affects others.
Thank you for listening.
Gibson.

Mea culpa Mrs P ( Glas), I was confusing the end of the Millenium with the start of the bug, the 2nd Millenium didn't end till midnight December 31st 2000, but the bug was all about the date change wasn't it? :shootsselfinfootandlimpsoffinshame:

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Sorry Gibbo but there a quite a few wine makers in France, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere who have developed a lifestyle based on my consumption of decent plonk. I could not have it on my conscience if they were to fall into any hardship due to purchasing a lesser quality beverage or indeed adopting the "silly" stance of PJ and Willy and actually reducing my intake.
Oh Good Morning by the way

On that basis I shall keep with the Faustino Rioja as Spain need the help, and invest more heavily in whiskey..... not sure if that's going to fit with my new regime but I guess at times you have to think about putting others first.

Mad loadsa muny on the Millenium Bug. We IT'rs all knew it was bollox but we still went through the motions for erm, due-diligence.
Actually, 2000-2001 was a dangerous time for code errors. That's what we told them anyway. Italy did next to nowt about the Bug. Their fecklessness saved them 100's of millions. Money which they stole from the EU anyway. At least the Irish drank & partied like eejits and spent it on 2nd houses they could never afford in reality. Subtle differ.

Thanks Rava, made quiet note to self on that advice
I'm off to work now, the old regime has fallen, the days of downtrodden servitude to self-weakness are gone, I am risen and I am marching forth with hope and purpose beating strongly in my breast, I shall not founder on the rocks of despair, I shall overcome those temptations that beset the path of the righteous and emerge triumphant from THE.....................VALLEY.......................OF..............................DARKNESS!!!
