First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of David Sisi, Jannie de Beer and Glen Webbe above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yeah, sometimes I do the same thing watching/listening to those video clips. Especially after being out for a few hours and then being too wired up to go to sleep. I sometimes even get as sentimental as Gibbo does.

Proper nasty Billy.

I'm hoping for Leinster to dish up some Glasgae butt today, my beloved Bath went down in the last minute AGAIN yesterday, but if Leinster stretch their legs at Firhill Bath still have a shot at an Amlin spot next week.

I love the Heineken Cup. Cool

None of them can claim to walk on the stuff after yesterday's performance PJ. Scrappy would be about it. Hopefully we can beat Bordeaux next week, then we should have a host of players back next month.

Low Voltage cup games after Bordeaux and I couldn't give a rat's rear end about those.

Battery about to die on the phone. Laters folks.

Morning (just!) coffee

Watched the O's match highlights just now. Tommy's try was a classic from him - intercept pass, long run down the pitch on his own, casually tapped under the posts Smile heart Some good tries in the Ulster and Edinburgh games as well looking at the highlights.

Morning all,

Awh Cari,

The Ulster match was just amazing.

The atmosphere was absolutely incredible. And that's from someone who was in probably the least atmospheric part of the ground and who had the box beside us empty apart from 4 or 5 of the Tigers management team, who obviously were not adding much to the vib at all.

Haven't seen any of the other games from the weekend as I'm still a bit poorly but we kept an eye on the scores.

Sorry to hear you're unwell MrsP. I hope it's noting serious and you get much better very soon. Hug

I didn't see any matches hence I watched the highlights programme on S4C. I did try to watch the O's game on the net but it was a very poor stream and frustrated me so I gave up watching and listened to BBC Radio Wales coverage.

Morning Cari, we've had a proper feast of rugby the last two days, the O's game ebbed and flowed in the first half. I thought it was going to be a slaughter after Tommy went over so early but Treviso made a game of it....... until the second half.

Morgan impressed from the bench.

PJ - there were couple of really frustrating moments from an O's point of view - Chauncey O'Toole should've scored his try but he didn't ground it, when it was begging. Shane Williams did a couple of knock-ons due to bum passes from others and Tommy's second try was held up which was annoying too (although good defence from Treviso). raspberry Still, it was a win they needed to warm their cockles if nowt else. Smile

Well I just wanted to make sure that everyone was fully aware that I was in one of the boxes. And I mean the boxes. Just in case someone had missed the fact that I wasn't in the old stand or anything.

Did I mention that grumpy drawers Cockerill and Henry Tuilagi were next to us? I mean in the next BOX. I did tell you I was in a box, didn't I?

The best bit was, you know the abuse I get in here about the standard of potato based snacks that are consumed? ie. That I get acused of insisting on only serving posh crisps.

Well, you will not guess the name of the catering company they use for the boxes? (Did I mention I was in one of the fancy boxes?)

The caterers are called,

Posh Nosh!

Cockerill is a strange character.

He has a tech guy there with several lap tops and all that stuff but he sits there clutching this wee black notebook and chewing a biro.

The first penalty to Ulster was, I thought, one of the most clear cut, easiest to spot offences by Youngs coming around off-side at a scrum and then kicking the ball out.

Yer man was complaining that the ref was just blowing his whistle and then making up an offence! I mean he actually said that!

Then a bit later there was an Ulster lineout and he starts to shout, at the top of his lungs,

"Not straight ref, not striaght, not straight!!!!"

I mean really yelling it!

Well, the looks he was getting from the Ulster fans were a picture to behold.

Then, for about the next 5 or 6 Liecester line out, all you could here was a wee chorus of folks shouting.

"Not straight ref!"

Whistle

He puts a semblance of 'grumpiness' on for the cameras. My aunt taught with him at an NZ school and says he was very charming - he was a very popular and entertaining after-dinner speaker too. Very Happy
