First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of John Hayes, Craig Gilroy,
Niall O'Connor, Ben Skirving and Jonny May above the bar!

Also Mick, I know your having Shovey to stay in spare room. Any chance I can use the sofa on the Saturday. I can't justify a hotel room for what will be just a few hours sleep.

Nope - Laidlaw has been making his mark as a 10 for Embra, altho I think that when Cus/Blair/Rory Lawson retire, wee Greig will revert to scrumhalf, esp as we have other young talented 10s coming thru (ie Weir). Plus a rookie halfback combination in the Calcutta Cup? No, would prefer to stick along club lines

Afternoon pub. I hope Penfro's mam makes a full recovery.

II've not been to good in recent days. Managed to get to work but I have been absolutely shattered afterwards and couldn’t be arsed to do much of anything for most of the last week. Couldn't even make the Ealing and Wasps games at the weekend Sad

Much been happening?

And well done to all the HC quarter finalists by the way thumbsup

Very good signing for us, will form a strong second row unit with Matt Garvey next season. What we need is a tighthead and we will have a front 5 that can compete with the best in the league. I know the club are looking, but not sure who is one the shortlist.

Ah we'll figure something out anyway Glas. Sadly I can only head out on the Saturday night.

I have to head back to Limerick after the match. Work Monday and it will be a busy week as we have a tour to Paris that week. Would have loved to take the Monday off too.

On the mend now, thankfully.

Ozzy - that's two heading out of Leicester, what with 36 signing for Glaws. Is it something Cockerill is doing?

I can't listen to his interview posted earlier, but I'm guessing it's a whinge. One thing I like about Dai Young is that he doesn't make excuses, despite an horrendous injury list. We are not alone in the AP on that score mind.

I think she said something about 'flu the other day?

Afternoon all, grumpy day. One of my netball teammates sprained an ankle last night so we've had to scramble a replacement, I spilt chilli sauce on my shirt at lunch and had to race out and buy a replacement, and our work servers are being fickle and crashing every half hour.

On the plus side, I may have to get up to Newcastle to see the Falcons play, just to test the pies - http://www.gourmetpie.co.uk/

Hound, hope you're feeling better soon.

My understanding is that 36 wants to play 12, but Cockers favours Anthony Allen, so he's decided that for the sake of his own career he needs a move. If Gloucester get a couple more tough b ugger s in the pack, witht he backs they have, they will be a force next season.

Rava - Wasps won't be going any further in Europe as things stand. Might be different if Rees and Robinson (plus a few others) get fit.

We are where we are, and most fans just want this godawful season over with.

My old company called me today. They asked have I any pals who want a 3 month contract. Literally only qualification is that you aren't a dunce and can hold your own in German.

If you have a pal who fits the bill please let me know.

Aaron Shingler called up to the Wales squad!

So happy for him, he was unlucky to miss out in the first instance.

That's three new Scarlets players involved with the Wales squad this season already now: Rhodri Jones, Liam Williams and now Aaron. So proud of them, and the Scarlets!

Slight negative, with injuries to Rob Gog and Turnbull, back row cover is now going to be a big issue.

Good for him, he's earned it. Lewis Evans will be disappointed, but it's great that we have such competition for places.

Having said that, I really hope Dan Lydiate's injury isn't so bad that he misses the opening match.

I think Lewis Evans would have been in with more of a shout Lucky, but he's missed out a bit of the season with injury, no?

Surprisingly not MrsP, after reading back they certainly should have been!

I am onto day 14 of headaches, and day 10 of swollen glands. slightlygrumpy.com

Still, training was good today, auditing is starting to make more sense even if there is loads to remember. I have however realised that there are tons of things I should have been doing in the office as a green team rep to meet standards, that I wasn't even aware of!

Hound - just seen your post, hope you feel better very soon! Hug

Sorry, just being honest. I can't lie about these things, and there's probably too much to read through.

PENFRO - sorry to hear about your mum. I hope she's on the road to recovery and progressing well.
