The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This is the first Pub of 606v2's second year, here's hoping for another good one.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Augustin Pichot, David Campese, Mal O'Kelly and Jim Williams above the bar!

Thoughts Ozzy? I could write a book. Ive been laying them down for 3 years now and people are kopping on at last.
Its great being a Pioneer.
If he doesnt have a 4/5 6-N he's under pressure. Winning all the home games wont do. Not with this squad. Hes failed his remit and most of his limited success has been fortuitous. He is lost outside Munster. He was forced to make changes against the grain and injury & timing dealt him a great hand. He is very lucky with the quality being produced at Leinster. Munster and Ulster. Yet, he still holds it all back. Imagine what a top coach could do with this squad and the emerging players?
He's clueless and tactically bereft at the Top End. Elmer Fudge.

Looks like the rumours about Rhys Thomas from the Scarlets are true (although I don't think as serious as feared). He's recovering in hospital today after having to have emergency surgery on a heart condition, but is said to be comfortable.

Two points.
(1) Needles and balloons are rarely a good combination and,
(2) Why?

Evening.
Just watching the O's game. They're winning I wish they'd play more of their matches at the Brewery Field - it's nearer to me for a start. Just a better atmos. This is only for the Luther Vandross Cup though, so they won't play any Rab games there.

Also, can I just deliver a massive for Penfro, his Ma's in hospital and recovering from a nasty invasive op, and he STILL manages to make life easy for me by posting his TV guide.
Slim Pickins (didn't he do country?) for us Sky viewers this weekend, but I'll make a special effort for Bath v Northampton in the Little-Value Cup and the Wolfhounds v Saxons straight after for the feck of it.
Thanks Penfro, ya legend.

Apparently the ref is shocking, but I never really pay muich attention to them unless it's something really obvious, so I can't comment. Matt Morgs has missed a couple of kicks so the O's should ideally be into the 20s. He struggles a bit kicking for territory as well.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Both outhalves have missed easy kicks for touch. A lot of mistakes being made now. A lot of knock-ons, loose passes. Neither young and talented 10 is bossing things. Both are making mistakes though their talent is obvious.
It's sometimes hard to see the value of this competition. I suppose it's good gametime for the fringe players. That's a decent finish for Eli Walker.

Really dont like twitter. It gives gobshoites instant access... to call each other gobshoites.
P.S. Nathan (I'll sit on one of ye and hold back 2 of ye) Hines Rocks! Love to have a pint with him. One of the last great characters in rugby. Like our Donnacha.
Question, who, in World rugby, would ye like to sit down and have pints and craic with? I'll give ye 5 off de top of me ceainn.
1. Brian Moore
2. Trevor Brennan
3. Donnacha O Callaghan
4. Nathan Hines
5. Nigel Owens
Imagine that gig after vast loads of pints on Tour. Man.

Like any social media platform, Twitter is what the users make of it. Lot of people act like gobshoites on it. It's fantastic having instant access to the latest news; the best people to follow are, always, journalists and bloggers.

That's very true Notch. It's like everything else in life. There are always those who misuse things for themselves. Doesn't make it a bad thing, just those who abuse it. I don't use Twitter myself, but I'm not against it. I can see how it benefits public figures, businesses and giving a voice to those who wouldn't normally have one.
