The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Rhys Thomas, Ben Castle, Andy Fenby and Bill McLaren above the bar!

Just ask him.
I've seen them, they are all in ones and have got a print of a naked woman's body on the front, like those aprons you can buy. He had them made specially.

She's good thanks MrsP Haven't provide any updates as she's in a bit of 'limbo' at the moment. She's good enough to be discharged, but they must wait on a visit to the bungalow by the 'Occupational Health' visitor to assess. However, because of the strain on NHS beds, if the visit isn't in the next couple of days they will move her from Withybush General to South Pembrokreshire "Community" Hospital - which is a mile nearer for Dad !!MrsP wrote:Morning all.

Had to ring Morriston Hospital (yes, Mam & Dad have NHS season tickets now ) to rearrange a follow-up appointment regarding Mam's cardiac problems, as she's not fit to travel the 120-mile round trip. I spoke to the consultant's secretary. Oh, she says "Give you mam a big hug from me, I've spoken to her loads of times and she's lovely" That made me tis always nice if someone says your Mam is lovely

Prop, are these youngsters who have fallen off the straight and narrow path that you assist in getting jobs for and working with?

Pete, great news about your mam and I hope she gets paroled soon. Give her a from me.
I have been trying to visualise Gibbo in his S&M all-in-one's. Nightmare
Cari, Annual Leave is it? Nice work if you can get it . I hope we will "see" a bit more of you over the next few days.
By the way I will not be entering Strictly Come Dancing next series.
Thank Flip I hear you all say ....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
England team announced and in truth I am decidedly underwhelmed!!!
Fode, Ashton, Farrell, Barritt, Strettle, Hodgson, Youngs; Corbisiero, Hartley, Cole, Palmer, Botha, Croft, Robshaw, Dowson.
Pack looks underpowered to me. can't see it being a very good game. Scotland will win the pack battle but have little threat behind it with Parks at 10, and England's attacking threat in the backs will be living off scraps.
I'm off down the bookies to put a tenner on both teams scores being divisible by 3 at the end!!!

I agree with you regarding the pack Pete. Front five could get hammered in the scrum. Mind you if the backs can get any go forward ball at all they will cause damage. It will be an interesting game and one I am looking forward to. Close to call but for me England will scrape it.

I feel a bit sorry for Lancaster, I think he is slightly caught between two stalls. He wants to build for the future and be bold and dynamic, but he knows that in terms of getting the job full time he will judged in no small part on results, so has had to hedge his bets a little.
There is no way on gods green earth that anyone is going to convince me that Botha and Dowson are better selections than Garvey and Morgan would have been.
I cannot see who in our pack will get us over the gainline and give us momentum. Very disappointed.
Parks may yet prove to be an inspired selection As. If his boot can put you in the right areas then I can see a coupld of your forwards steamrollering over the line to be honest.

Penfro - glad your mum's on the mend. It is lovely to hear positive comments about your folks from others too.
Prop - well done! Please keep up the good work. I think what your organisation does for the youngsters is an essential (sometimes thankless) job.
Rava - well I'm not tuning into Strictly then. You could've been the next John Sergeant! I will try and post more in here over the next few days. I'm off out this afternoon to catch up with someone I used to work with. Tomorrow I'm doing the same with someone else and going shopping. At the moment I'm watching Jeremy Vile and drinking a brew
Morning everyone else!

Strangely I don't see the scrum as being a huge issue for us. Bothe props are good scrummagers despite what tehir detractors would have you believe. Cole will hopefully have learnt from the going over Chunk gave him at the World Cup and I can see it being pretty even there to be honest.
I am more concerned about the lineout and dynamism around the breakdown area.

Morning all, please. I've got a kiwi friend over from Canada couch-surfing for a few days, and we went out for curry and pints last night, hence I'm a little hungover this morning.
But on the plus side, just had my final meeting with the auditors and they're competely happy

Too right Glas though I think you make your own luck (such as Mike Phillips). I think that was very clever thinking out of him.

Did you just use the words 'Mike Phillips' and 'clever thinking' in the same sentence Stag???

Ozzy - for whatever reason Mike Phillips is one of those players who just seems to turn it on against Ireland and save his dud performances for the rest of the rugby world.

And it wasn't either. Phillips always looks to a break, even if it isn't on in a scatter gun approach. It's bound to come off sooner or later.

Man up you two. I've got a mate who had a breakdown this time last year and I'm on the blower to him daily trying to stop him having another just because it's one year since he had the first. Your colds will pass.
Hope that helps.

Glas,
The combination of your advice to Munsty and Stag and the thought of you giving somace to someone in distress has made me laugh!
I sincerely hope the advice on the phone did not include the expression "man up!"
