The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Rhys Thomas, Ben Castle, Andy Fenby and Bill McLaren above the bar!

Anyone seen The Grey yet? Liam Neason vs load of bad ass wolves. I don't want to ruin it but I'd appreciate the feedback.

Seriously am I alone in here? Touchdown giants who are dominating this first quarter.

Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuz, lovely dancer, fantastic footballer. I believed in Eli, and so far he is getting it done. Just wondering, seeing as we were talking about how Wales were just physically bigger than Ireland, is it odd how most running backs are between 5'10 and 5'7? They are just so small and powerful, some guys have nicknames like "Pocket Hercules"

Yea but said guys bulk up with shoulder pads, helmets etc. Giants well on top. Tom finding a few decent passes though.

The tackling is urine poor aswell some of these guys are just insanely powerful and nimble, when you see a guy who is 6ft 4in and 17 stone hurdling over guys it shows you how athletic some of these guys are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Ka2iDGAWA

Much like Ireland today, Patriots need some decent possession this quarter.

Giants will win, I'm liking Mike Carlson in the BBC box, very well informed.

Hi all, have to say that Ireland v Wales match today rekindled my interest in the 6 Nations after many many years of being indifferent to it.
The most enjoyable international match I've been to in a LONG time.

Patriots struggling for any impact. Giants look very organised.

JPP is balling as are the whole Giants defence. They will win well as Eli is playing like an Elite guy.

You can't put a linebacker on Gronk or Hernandez. They will get beaten. Safety is probably the better option.

Great work by JPP. But Patriots get the touchdown anyway. NE needed that before halftime.

Great drive by the Pats, damn it. They get the ball in the second half too. My prediction for the Giants could be wrong.

Morning
I've got up at this hour and I'm not even working today - I'm wide awake though. Ah well. I didn't see any of the Superbowl, but I hear Her Madge did a good performance at half time

Thats different Hughie, they are on production platforms so are fully staffed. My work takes me to unmanned staelite platforms and windmills on the north sea so far more cold and dangerous in this weather

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Bore da pawb / good morning all. It's not half as cold this morning as it was last week. It's a grey, drizzly morning, but a Wales win makes this kind of day alright.
I'm glad to hear it, Stag, and it really was a great Test match. A match that went right to the wire, tries from both sides, missed kicks (which add to the drama) - it was a good 'un.

Poor old Dreamer, she was (understandably) delirious with excitement after the game, but myself Mick and Stag were like poster boys for a mental health ad. She didn’t want to rub it in, you could tell she was punching the air when we weren’t looking

Mickado sums it up well. She was a gracious winner to the last as were the Welsh fans sat in front of us.

Ah yeah, as was Glas. He was straight over to tell me how we should have no problems if we play like that against France.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag, i'll respond on your thread in a sec.
Here, what's this I'm reading about Heaslip having a poor game? I thought he was one of our best forwards (along with Best). Did George Hook tell people he's poor because i've read a few people saying it now and I'm just confused...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Heaslip and Best were Luckless. Kearney was very solid throughout and I thought Murray had a good game though I've not heard it mentioned all that much.
Though he was good in the lineout and in defence O'Connell butchered a certain try (though we scored one a few minutes shortly after). I thought both Ryan and O'Callaghan turned in very good displays though I really want to see Ryan start in Paris.
Darcy surprised me with a solid if unspectacular effort. I wasn't impressed by Bowe or McFadden.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I thought O'Connell had butchered a try too, but they showed on replay that George North had gambled and rushed up in defence and actually prevented O'Connell from getting the pass away.

Walked into that one didn't I?! She came out with some classic comments: why if you have a blindside don't you have a vision side?
I asked her how long a half was, she said 40 mins each way so 90 mins overall but she did jump up and cheer at the end.
Photo nomination: this secret one Hughie and Asbo are talking about!! Or the players who won their first caps over the weekend.
