The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Sergio Parisse and Owen Farrell above the bar.

Lambs are probably the cutest things on Earth, if I were a sheep farmer, I think I'd have the largest sheep farm ever - I couldn't sell them.

I know a guy who plays drums in a folk band called 'The Lambing Season'. Ridiculous name. If you say the skinny hipster jeans and perfectly placed just messy enough to look unpremeditated hair, you would hawk in disgust.
Why have a band called 'The Lambing Season' comprised of hip city kids who have never been near a farm? And would never?

Morning Billy.
Yeah, it was a shame. Got up bright and early only to be told that I could "go back to bed" by Gordon Bray and his cohorts.
I also missed the England game. Ridiculous starting time. However, I'll be up for the Wales-Scotland match on at 0250 here...

Morning breaker. Yeah we were all well upset last night, i went off into a fantasy land where ROG was making crunching tackles on players like Picamoles

Morning all from chilly Wealdistan.
Off out in a mo for more rugby punishment. Wasps v Sarries at 13:15. It's on ESPN so my money is on a load of us watching it in the pub in Wycombe, followed by Wales v Scotland. Thankfully I had the foresight to book tomorrow off - today could get messy....very messy

Was that on around the 75th minute? The dream... that is.
What was the scoreline? Or was it one of those dreams where certain important factors were glossed over or omitted completely?
For the record, I reckon it would have been a closer match with both teams scoring under 21 points.

I didnt finish the match in my head breaker, after thinking about ROG making such crunching tackles i started to question my sanity

Ha Billy, I can just see him hurling himself into Picamoles' kneecaps...
Seriously though - it's great that you actually dreamt ROG "doing" something and attempting the tackle... rather than standing back, neither here nor there... and simply "believing" a tackle could possibly be made on Picamoles.
That's a good sign for Ireland.

Yeah, and Ferris somewhat redeemed himself after his up & down performance against Wales. The French were getting very frustrated at the breakdown at times and it was good to see Ireland exploiting this.

Morning all.
I've got a splitting headache again this morning. At least yesterday morning I could blame the booze from Friday. Didn't touch a drop yesterday though
I see the Irish cricket team is 56/7 vs Kenya at lunch on day 1 of a 4-day game in Mombassa. Not much chance of the match being called off for a frozen pitch there either

They've got a good article up about cricket as a unifying force in Afghanistan - it seems even the Taliban are fans.

Morning pub
Off to my mum's later on this morning to help her sort out stuff. She's putting her house on the market so is having a grand clear-out. Several trips to the tip for me today I suspect.
Though a break between 3.00pm and 5.00pm has been scheduled

Morning All
Have fun at the tip Swanny!
Cymro - Yes, I feel sorry for her daughter losing her mum so soon. However, I don't mean to sound crass, but there's something inevitable to the point of cliché about famous drug users dying young in hotel rooms. Still, I hope that she's fondly remembered for her talent rather than her decline, although I don't think the media will be that kind.

Bore da pawb / good morning all.
So Gordon Bray's still going is he, Breaker? He's the voice of the 1989 Lions tour for me, I don't know how many times I watched the video of that tour when I was younger.
It's sad to hear about Whitney Houston, it always is when someone dies young; but I was never a fan really.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He's still going lucky... since about 1980 at least, so 32 years. He lived in the same suburb where I grew up.
Andrew Blades and Stirling Mortlock also grew up in Lindfield.
Nick Farr Jones lives just up the road. He had a near miss a couple of years ago when some young lady driver clipped his headlights coming around a corner too fast.
He was sitting shaken by the side of the road and my Mum offered him a glass of water.
Then there's a few newsreadrers, radio announcers like Mike Carlton, Jono Coleman, and that Ian "Dicko"Dickson guy from Australian Idol. (I once grabbed a box of cereal before he did as he was standing there undecided in a supermarket aisle) He couldn't make a quick decision if his life depended on it!
