The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Millennium Stadium Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported itself inside Millenium Stadium this week to see if the men in red can manage a Slam. There's also TVs showing the other 6N matches, the U20s and Womens' matches, Super XV, the "Classic" match and LV= Cup action.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Mervyn Davies and Jock Hobbs above the bar!

Yeah cheers mate. I can't quite take it in yet. Really can't thank Ozzy enough. Hope Scotland do well for you. Going to be some tension in that game as well.
I hate this waiting around now. Might try a nap again.

Can't think of anyone more deserving for a spot of luck than you, mate
I'm fairly disinterested in today's Scotland game to be honest. My hopes weren't huge to begin with, and they've been well and truly smashed by now anyhew. I think a brave coach would have said at the start of the season, look I'm going to blood a load of talented in-form young players so we may not get the results but it'll be good for the future. Instead we had the usual judge me on results at the end bollix, with bizarre selections and hanging on to out-of-form players (with an added sprinkling of player brain farts, ie Rennie vs England, De Luca vs Wales, Lamont and Evans vs Ireland), and we've achieved nothing. Well, I'm judging you, Mr Robinson - bye, bye

PJHolybloke wrote:Evening fellas, just a quick in and out for me tonight - yeah, I know; "no change there" .
Lions captain next year is almost certainly going to be Warburton, Gatland is almost certainly going to be head coach and he is almost certainly not going to move outside his fold for leader.
All of our representative 1st XV's are getting younger and younger and that is testament (finally) to the talent the NH is producing through the change to professional rugby.
Surely that young talent can't and wont be dashed to pieces on the hard rocky outcrop of "experience"?
Let the feckin rugrats run with it and to hell with the consequences, some of these players are so young they've still got the boxes they came in, they still bounce at that age too.
Throw the kids at Australia next year and frighten the feck out of the Aussies at how good our babies are.
Ta.
'Night fellas.
I've noticed our babies are getting bigger & better each year too - absolutely no fear shown at all.
Except when the lift doors in my building open and they see me already waiting inside there with that impatient look on my face.
The poor Mammy has to push the kid accross the lift threshold and say: "It's OK,... he won't hurt you!"
(even though he looks kinda scary...)

Happy St Patrick's Day to all, I hit the straps early last night and I'm feeling the strain this morning.
#mangled.
Good luck to everyone for today's games - except the Tiggers of course, that's a tough one, Sinners or Tiggers?
Poke in the eye with a stick sir, or a boot in the nads?
I'll take the stick thanks.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, happy St Patrick's day and happy birthday to Swanny!
It was raining earlier and it's due to rain later on but it's a beautiful morning here. I went to get the papers an hour or so ago and I've been listening to my iPod on shuffle since I got back - it's thrown up beauty after beauty, songs I haven't listened to in ages. This just came on:

Best of luck to all the teams today except France Hope everyone enjoys their Super Saturday with whoever, wherever, however they're spending it.
Note: is it really Swanny's birthday today? Facebook usually tells me so...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Millennium Stadium Rugby Pub
A quotation from today's Times:
'After three away wins, what will hurt them [England] is the prospect of losing both home internationals in the RBS Six Nations Championship for the first time. It is hard to see that happening.'
Why is it hard to see that happening?

Feeling confident? About playing Ireland? Suuuuuuure.
I'm trying to keep myself busy and not think about it, I'd love this England team to carry on developing under the current coaching set-up but I can't help thinking the wheels are going to come off at some stage, and that's either going to be today - or on Monday when the RFU announce Mallet has the job.
I'd be happy for them to just put in another good performance with some try-scoring action against an Ireland side which, regardless of what many Irish fans are saying, is a little unlucky not to be going for a slam today.
I'd be content with a loss but with further improvement on the previous showing against Wales.

Happy Paddy's day everyone!
I have never heard it called "Patty's" day till that well known bastion of political correctness that is Glas, mentioned it earlier.
Like the link though.
While we are at it, can I just wish Rava Happy Birthday too since it's not his B'Day either!!!!
I think it's Swanny Tomorrow, Gibbo on Monday and then Rava on Wed?

Right- come on Scotland, come on Wales and come on Ireland!
Do we have a wooden spoon emoticon? Big game for two coaches here- letting Mallett go seems now seems like a mad decision. Italy have gone backwards. Scotland are going sideways on the pitch as well as on it.
Oh great- exploding televisions. More money well spent BBC!
