First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported itself inside Millenium Stadium this week to see if the men in red can manage a Slam. There's also TVs showing the other 6N matches, the U20s and Womens' matches, Super XV, the "Classic" match and LV= Cup action.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Mervyn Davies and Jock Hobbs above the bar!

Glas,

There are some pregnancy facts you seem to have missed there!

I'm sure I could find a simple fact sheet somewhere that would explain things!

Cari,

What proportion of the population of Wales usually live in Cardiff?

3,000,000 / 12 = 250,000.

I thought Cardiff had around 350,000 with over 840,000 (just checked) in the greater metro area?

Probably about the same MrsP...that was a stat I heard locally, I don't think it means anything. I don't know why they don't just say, there's loads of people about.

Check that out! A former Italian centre turned opera star singing at the rugby. Cool!

I'd be more impressed if an opera star made the transition to test rugby after he finished his singing career Smile

No, that is incredible. Fair play!

Wouldn't like to be Jon Welsh facing that- even though I know he'll be loving it, baptism of fire.

Then I saw him at Ravenhill. I was so impressed with the way he conducted himself.

Now he's a big fav of mine!

He always struck me as a bit of a primadonna on the pitch and I suppose I had assumed that carried over to real life.

I was clearly wrong. The way he behaved that night was just fantastic. So impressed. Geordan Murphy too but that was no surprise!

That ball came out on the Scottish side of the line out and the Italians still managed to gather it. More effort needed there lads.

Yellow cards ahoy! A couple before half time methinks.

Kris Burton is perhaps the worst player in the 6N. He has a good boot but none of the other attributes.

75,000 for a rugby match in Italy. That's fantastic.

You're spot on notch. A lot of tension between these 2 teams at the moment.

You heading out tonight?

Yeah exactly! I don't want to go out with the Holylands finest GAA stormtrooper wrecking crew. I was out the night of the Holyland riots two years ago. Talk about messy!

It won't be anything like that though, it's a weekend, they've all gone home to their mammies Smile

Nicholl really grinds my gears Rava. Hamilton was nowhere near the line out challenge, which Rolland waved ok. He was carded for charging sideways into the Italian maul. About the third time he's done that today.

Not bad considering how poor we've been in at least 2 of those games.

Best of luck to the welsh, Irish, french and English out there. Here's hoping for 2 enormously better games. Not that would be difficult. I'm going to begin a 9 hour drinking session. Happy Paddys Day everyone!!

Indeed. That try was massive. They needed points to settle and the longer they went without them the more I felt there could be an upset. As it is, I see Wales as in control. France aren't all that.

I listened to Mark Cueto last week and he way saying that St Andre always told them to kick their way into the oppositions half and then try to play from there. Nothing has changed and they will not cause Wales too many problems with the tactics they are employing.
