First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported itself inside Millenium Stadium this week to see if the men in red can manage a Slam. There's also TVs showing the other 6N matches, the U20s and Womens' matches, Super XV, the "Classic" match and LV= Cup action.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Mervyn Davies and Jock Hobbs above the bar!

Hound - two things happened O'Leary. He got injured and while injured the game changed slightly. Big scrumhalves were no longer in vogue and attack became more important to our teams. His slow pass was exposed badly.

I love the wording of this question to Jeremy Guscott in his Q & A:

Do you think Wales can progress and push on to become a true world power considering the last two Grand Slam sides took three steps back straight away? For the sake of the Lions and northern hemisphere rugby, I hope England are not the only team with victories over the big three come the end of the year. Mark Newell, England

Surely the 'Boks will at least give them a game?

Red_Stags culinary fact of the day:

I made a new discovery in the supermarket recently; Roasted Parsnips. I bought them thinking they were chips. However they are much nicer and not as bad for you. Two birds with one stone.

Anyone watching the budget? Very entertaining stuff. Osborne just made a Wallace and Grommit gag which I saw coming about 5 minutes before he said it. Sooo predictable...

Rumours that Ireland may be sniffing around Chief tighthead prop (and occasional loosie) Hoani Tui - has played for NZ Maori, but would qualify thru an Irish grandfather maybe OK

excellent news Glas! obviously not that there were incicents, but good that they weren't rugby related. Have read some horrible stats over the years linking sport to domestic violence.

Won't wash Ozzie. He's shoite and I don't see him getting any better. Irish chances next year have just gone down Crying or Very sad

Hopefully there isn't an International release clause in his contract and you will have him all to yourselves during the AI's and the 6N Very Happy

I just used Sonny Liston in the 'Name Game - Sports Stars' thread ( https://www.606v2.com/t22304p650-name-game-sports-stars#1071694 ) and realised I knew nothing about the man except that Cassius Clay had beaten him. His Wikipedia page is such an interesting read:

Another one for the wall: https://www.606v2.com/t26386-stat-alert-player-summaries-from-6ns-the-boiler-room

There's a backrow one now too - slightly controversial in the sense that 'statistically' Dan Lydiate, player of the tournament, does not show up in the top two of any category - oh well, good at everything without being a star in any one aspect of play - but I was surprised OK

A woman in the bank just threw a massive strop. It was awkward for all involved. Particularly when the old man behind me couldn't hold his laughter any longer and burst out.

Roast parsnips are nice. I wont eat them boiled. Honey is very good for you Prop, especially if its locally produced. However heating it too much kills all the goodness. It goes nicely with roast parsnips though.

I also see the Sharks CEO has said Cipriani can be the next global superstar and follow in the footsteps on JW. Really?
