606v2 Mock Draft - Page 10 Empty Re: 606v2 Mock Draft

Post by BamBam Thu 21 Apr 2011, 2:49 pm

I do agree that it is silly season but I can see him dropping partly because of his knee and partly because of teams different needs. Looking at the top 10, pass rush probably isn't the top need for any of them.

Carolina - Have Johnson, need help everywhere, Newton probable pick
Broncos - Dumervil is a good pass rusher, DT a bigger need
Bills - 3-4 defence, Bowers not a good fit
Bengals - Possible, have Dunlap, will probably go BPA or Newton/Gabbert
Cardinals - 3-4 defence
Browns - Most likely spot for Bowers, Quinn could be the pick instead
49ers - 3-4, too many other needs
Titans - Maybe they like Bowers enough, but seem to want DT
Cowboys - 3-4 defence
Redskins- 3-4 defence

Just a quick run through as to why I think Bowers will fall but if his knee checks out he will be one of the steals of the draft

Oh I agree that he could fall out of the top 10 and drop even further into the late teens, depending on the accuracy of the injury reports, but like I said it only take one team to like him enough or maybe someone trades up to get him. As far as dropping into the 20s or the 2nd round goes, I'll believe it when I see it. If Nawrocki and the like start leaving him off their mock drafts then I would be a bit more concerned for him.

Was expecting you to pick Clayborn for the Browns, highest rated DE on the board, but makes Cleveland's O Line even better so a nice pick

I was thinking Clayborn, but from what I've heard Sherrod is very good at run blocking so he will help Hillis and Hardesty, plus as I'm hoping McCoy is the starting quarterback I want to keep the young guy standing up, and give him time to make throws. If Clayborn dropped this far in the actual draft though I would expect the Browns to take him over Sherrod.

NFL.com video Fairley's Field:
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d5d81f63fcf/Fairley-s-field

With a bit of coaching this guy has the potential to be a beast in just about any position on the DL IMO. Fairley to the Bills or Broncos could be a possibility.

The smear isn't important if a team likes him enough they'll take him, they'll have looked into any problems he could have during their interviews with him so they won't be worried by problems other teams have with him or the press are reporting.

I don't doubt that it will have hurt his value with some teams, but it's like Bowers and his knee, all it takes is one team to love you (or be in desperate need for your position) and you can go anywhere.

Texans clock is winding down, as the draft is 5 days and Easter weekend I am hoping we can finish 2nd round by Thursday, where as GM had around 24 hours, its now reduced to 12 as there are still 21 picks to make and at 12 hours a piece it should allow us to finish just before the draft starts.

I would agree with that...
Look at the next bunch of picks
43. Vikings (Graeme Swans Cat)
44. Lions (crazy_dave)
45. 49ers (bambam willis)
46. Broncos (Pr4wn)
47. Rams (arizona_tom)
48. Raiders (Manning-to-Manningham)
49. Jags (Pr4wn)

All pretty regular posters and we know Pr4wn has given his lists to various people. Lets wait a bit.... it is a holiday weekend!

Post by Derbyblue Sat 23 Apr 2011, 6:53 pm

LeedsCowboys said he was going to cut it down to 12 hours waiting, so I was just wondering who would want to pick instead if the 12 hours goes by. I know the next bunch are fairly regular but we are running out of time before the draft starts, and I don't expect it to be very busy on Friday, so there won't be many picks between the start of the draft and end of the second round.

Understandable pick, Rudolph is the best Tight End in the draft, and he's the only one I've heard of, adding him and Julio Jones will add two very good options for Bradford to pass too, and they could easily spend the majority of their careers playing together. From what I've read though he doesn't have the size or strength to be an effective run blocker.
